Star child was done by Dune's producer (forget his name now) hence the mislabel MP3.
Scooter would call themselves anything to make money. The only scooter track I liked was Back in the UK at that was when it first came out... other than that... they are sort of weird...
Dune's tunes are solid.

No, Starchild is made by Starchild, its a swedish guy. There was a CD single of that tune, but it sold out. It's now VERY hard to find. But Starchild and Starchild II can be downloaded from one site (legally), or you can buy there a CDR that has all his tunes (as some of the tunes cant be downloaded for free), i have that CD. The site is http://stage.vitaminic.com/main/starchild/all_tracks/

Scooter are utter pish - I used to like some of their tunes, but that MC began to REALLY annoy me.
As for Dune, does anyone know what they're up to at the moment? - they seem to keep dis-banding and coming back with a completely new style - it used to be hardcore all the way, then they went weird and chill-out and even teamed up for an album with the london session orchestra?!?!?!? last I know they released Rainbow to the stars again last year, but as a cheesey trance track and not the original hardcore mix. Suggestions?

Dune - Can´t Stop Raving (Both the original and the video edit are nice)
Scooter - Unity Without Words 2 (Pretty sure this is a back 2 the UK, a non-vocal version that is, but it's smashing)

Yeah Scooter back in the day was amazing (ie pre 2000).
Adam, you need to hear stuff from their 1st album.
From what I've heard of Dune they seem pretty decent.
In term of calling Scooter or Dune true "Hardcore"; seeing as they're from Germany and not either the UK nor the Netherlands, I've always put them in a diff category with other "Eurocore" artists. Old Marusha, RMB, Blumchen, Mark 'Oh, etc.
Sure back in the day of "And The Beat Goes On", & "Our Happy Hardcore" Scooter we're closer to many diff style of Hardcore than they are today. Where they are now is somewhere more clubby and Trancy then a few years ago.
The good thing about Scooter is regardless of what genre they create their tunes to be they still maintain that standard "Scooter sound."

On the whole I think Scooter are great, there's just a couple of tracks like "She's the Sun" that are lame, the lyrics are enough to make most people laugh because they're so stupid :D
I have all of Scooters albums, I'll let you decide if that's a good or bad thing, but I have because I like =)
As for Dune, the most well known tracks are great, though less well known ones really aren't my style at all

Maybe starchild is Dune's producer? or has the same producer? I'm quite sure on my information.
