try these

You should be able to get some ok decks in a package for that amount.
The rest of the stuff in the package will be very basic though!

Yeah, same here. I had in mind the Str8-100's or St-100's + everything else I need should come out to a little over $800. But I still don't know what mixer I should get and I'm now having second thoughts on getting Stantons...because people say they suck.
So what are your peoples' thoughts on which turntables and mixer I should get? Remember I'd like to only spend $850 on the 2 turntables, a mixer AND everything else.
This's a list of what I need right:
[2]Direct Drive Turntables
[1]Mixer
[2]Cartridges
[2]Slipmats
[1]Headphone
[x]Records
[2]Speakers

do you have an amp to plug those speakers into?

i don't know if most tables come with cartridges, and you also need needles.

if it was me i'd save my money and buy some vestax pdx's or 12's

I don't think cartridges come with the Str8-100's but they do come with a headshell, slipmats and cables...
So since I'd have to purchase the cartridges separately, your saying I also have to buy needles for the cartrides? That's dumb for the cartridges not to come with needles!
So I need:
[2]Turntables
[1]Mixer]
[2]Cartridges + [2]Needles
[2]Slipmats
[1]Headphone
[x]Records
[2]Speakers + [1]Amp

Just go on ebay. I paid $700 for the set-up I have now. Which includes (2) Technics SL-1210MK2 turntables w/ Stanton scratch needles, a Gemini 676 mixer, all in an Odyssey coffin case and the guy I bought them from even threw in some crappy trance records and a record bag. His excuse for selling was he needed money for rent. His loss, my gain.

I'm sure you can find a good deal on there, you just gotta be patient.

If you got a home stereo or even a boom box that accepts RCAs, just hook your new tables to that. It's what I did.
