We're always talking about not mentioning original songs etc because we don't want artists to get sued. that's fair enough by me. i'm interested to know a bit more about the legal side of it. has anyone in hardcore actually been sued for directly ripping vocals or stealing 'intellectual property'? what kind of figure would the guilty producer be liable for? and how many of the tracks we hear are actually licensed??

on the kniteforce site Luna-c tells a story about nearly being sued. Im too hungover to find it. The site has just been changed to include a shop so here the link.

I heard that Vibes was sued for making 'Hey Jude' and for playing it as he broke copyright laws. Also I have heard that you can still be sued if you were to play it in a public place.

Thats why people hire singers to cover the songs, because that is legal.
Don't ask me why or how, I just know that its hard to sue people with no money.
