But, dont you have to be an integral part of the scene to quit it? ( Quote from USH ).

I don't know the ins and outs of your situation so i don't really understand your decision.
The problem you're going to have is that most people will see you as a quitter if you don't explain things properly.
And those last few lines of your post make you look like a real twat!
You might as well have written "if you don't lick my arse, f**k you"!
It's called life mate, nothing ever goes your way all the time - and i'm sure there are much worse things that could happen to you.

Arguably one of the best

hold up dave, at least let rob give his reasons before judgement day...
in all seriousness tho, if you are truely unhappy with the scene, i wish you all the luck for the future mate.
also, good luck with your releases - i've heard the IDR ones and was quite impressed

maybe there is something im REALLY missing here. But if Rob got signed to TWO record labels and one other one that he wont mention, why would you THEN quit the scene?
Shit if three different companies showed interest in my stuff, that would seem like that would be the beginning for me rather than the end.....little lost on how the "quit" part comes to play when success could be in store for you.

Being signed and then finding out what can REALLY happen within a label, isn't always the nicest of experiances. There's always more than you or I can see within the music scene as a whole be it big or small. A cut-throat industry!

Wow.. I talked to you for a bit. I even was planning on remixing that one tune of yours which I still have to finish. I might sometime.
I want to say, what you've done takes courage. I've come so close to this point many times this past year. One thing a lot of people don't know are the politics of the scene. Who has grudges against who and all of the shit going on. It's enough to make you want to quit because of how different it looks like on the outside.
You were awesome talking to, man. We had the same musical tastes and it was great. But I'm glad you made a decision. The hardest part is making the decision and going through with it. Which I've chickened out on many times. Good luck in your future. We'll all miss you.
