I've just seen a clip of MTV's making the movie of Dodgeball.

And it just reminded me that the the US version is a P**** version compared to the UK version.

Dodgeball is'nt my ONLY source, there's a US dodgeball clip in Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

US Dodgeball A Padded floor(WIMPS!!), a ULTRASOFT Ball, a Choice of about 6 Balls!!, 12 relaxed players, LOTS of rules.

UK Dodgeball A Hard as F*** conctreted Floor, a SINGLE Fully-inflated-ROCK-HARD Football, 50 Diliquent Youths From Estates, only a few rules.(IF ANY)

See UK-Dodgeball is far better and cooler.

Doesn't it also go by the name of "No Mans Land" in this country?

Do you live in a small village miles away from anywhere? I used to play it in school, in the scouts and the army cadets. UK Rules kick ass.

One by one the penquins slowly steal my sanity...........

Yes sort of High Wycombe and Aylesbury are fairly close but well you wouldn't really want to visit them often put it that way I work in wycombe and that's pretty much the only time I visit either of these towns!

Learning to drive whilst avoiding being pelted with hard objects would have been more useful i'd have less dents in my car then! I dont advise anyone to visit either town if in the area I feel safer in London personally.

you guys played dodgeball in scouts? weird...we just went camping

I think the real issue everyone is missing here is someone likes to watch buffy =P

as kids we played on hardfloors and had as many balls to use as we wanted...they just recently came out with the tv program which I hardly ever see since I work evenings but it's pretty funny the times I've seen it.

how are there many rules? you get hit you're out; you catch an opponents ball, they are out. yeah that's a lot of rules =P

This is the way I remember playing dodgeball in the scouts.

There is one ball.

There are at least 12 other peoplle.

If you pick up the ball you dont get someone out,
but you do get to throw it back at their Thighs as hard as you like.

(As long as you dont make them to uncomfortable to still play!)
(And i never remember ever reaching my Discomfort threshold, only Just bellow it)

lol lots of things are toned down here in the states - i mean, they threw they're arms up and ran around yellin blue murder when a boob was exposed on tv, imagine if they showed channel 4's eurotrash! lol..not that i would ever watch that myself

mind you tv here in the US is getting a tad more liberal now that Comedy Central are getting "The Grahem Norton Effect" sad thing is they edit out all the swearing and nudity though :(...i miss british tv lol

buffy sucks, same with most everything on the WB =P

what's the point of having one ball to throw? I prefer mass carnage with balls being flung everywhere. It makes it more difficult when trying to watch everyone on the opposing side when there are 3 balls being flung at you're head.

I still remember the first time I witnessed a kid getting hit in the nuts in gym. =/

you guys may use a harder ball but ya know, most parents over here like there children to have nice teeth =P

I was a big fan of playing with the parachute when I was little, more so than dodgeball =P
