trancecore was what people refered to "freeform" as back when it first started out. at the time (around 97) there was some controversy over weather it should be called that. i even have a cd called "Chemical X Generation" from stage one music, which has a small history of freeform on the back
"Bringing music styles together and working against segregation in the dance scene some call this phenomenon (freeform) Trance Core. a tag which has caused mixed reactions from the would be purists of Hard Dance. but many of you will already be familiar with this term for the merger between Hardcore and Hard Trance."
if you checkout the nuenergy.co.uk website shop, you'll notice that freeform is refered to as trancecore quite a few times. (the links in the shop say "freeform/trancecore" too)
a few people these days choose to called the nu skool hardcore "trancecore"...for fairly obvious reasons lol

PC World know the score. Once when I went into one of the shops, one of the Macs on display was blasting out Breeze and Whizzkid live at Hardcore Heaven :D
