Got to agree with most people on here, he is a complete joke, makes this music scene seem like a load of tosh to first time listeners.

I remember rankin cd's when they first came out in glasgow, long before the internet pushed it everywhere.
what you's need to remember is his audience is very young, all young teenagers really and they dont have much knowledge of music at all.
rankin to them is a name they can type into a search engine and find loadsa the music they like.
There not dj's who crave knowledge and no about all the latest releases from diff genres, they just want the anthems and thats what they get.
Rankin will take commercial dance, scouse, makina, hardcore new and old tracks, whatevers popular really and give it to them.
The accapellas are horribly out of time but i saw a good comparison on a diff forum before. In glasgow when i was a young teen we all got our hardcore through pirate stations.
14 year olds who couldnt dj who'd just got there first set of decks would get a transmitter and start broadcasting. Mixes were beyond a joke, toal clanging things like trying to mix hardcore into commercial dance. Speeding up better off alone so much it played with hardcore lol.
We just loved it because was all the anthems, so is same with the kids today.
Rankin may be famous on the internet and to wee lassies, believe me though a lotta people will give him grief for who he is and it's not really taking him anywhere.
People getting all worked up about it and posting shit all over net is a bit lame i think. At end of the day why not just leave the kids to there music and we'll get on with ours.
Leave it to the people who's music he's pirated to deal with it, theres a million other "bootleggers" and the whole music industrys fly as you like. People make a fuss about rankin when it effects them but wouldnt bother if they do similar stuff with other peoples work.

lol loadsa people i know started listening to dj pulse, then it went on to rankin, now its zitkus, cammy & carlee. They have all been popular with people i know i'm ashamed to say i listened to them. all of them do mash up's and i hate it when people ask me if i've heard ....(what ever track they've remixed) and say its by one of these dj's! I have actually never classed any ofthem as hardcore although it's mainly hardcore they mash up
