I have had the go ahead from my nightclub manager to have a Hard Dance theme over the Xmas holidays. I thought about starting off with something like Hard Trance then moving onto Hard House and finishing off with Hardcore.
One of the reasons for this is because where the nightclub is based the people there are only used to their commercial stuff, but when the DJ tried a little hardcore Your My Angle by 69 the crowd went mental.
I was just wondering if anyone out there could give me some tips on how to make the night successful and make the crowd wanting more.
What sort of hardcore set do you think would go down with a group of people that have only heard Your My Angel?
Thanks for your help!!

I would go with this order, Hardhouse, hardcore, hard trance
the hard house will be the attention getter, then hardcore peek hour banging hardcore goodness then the hard trance for people to go take bathroom breaks or leave early! lol

umm going from hardcore to hard trance? I think you would loose most people, not to mention the difference in bpm =P
your best bet is to go from fluff to rough in your set. start out with some catchy house, work into some harder house, try some hard trance, then work towards some freeformy stuff. not too far off of that hit the happier stuff then work your way through to some hardcore techno.
just watch how people react to each style you play to get a feel for what kind of stuff to drop next.
