what is it about hardcore that gets to you?

It's that feeling you get when the kick drum comes bangin in from the background, when the bassline drops and all you wana do is xplode. There is nothing more powerfull than hardcore, I dont know why more people dont realise how amazing it is. Some of the emotions I get from the tunes are unbelivable.
Hardcore, totally and uterly bashes the brain...thats what gets me.

The amount of different ideas, talent and styles that all get held under the name hardcore. Basically how well diff producers are mastering their own styles i.e trancey, happy, bouncy, makina, gabber, freeform, breakbeat, old school etc and makin each one an art while takin influences from all kinds of stuff to keep the groove changing. Oh yes and BCN style mixing never fails to give me the ultimate rush.

I know what you mean, I'm obsessed with it!
I've only got back into it in the last year or so - before that I was listening to all kinds of different stuff from different times, like Jazz, Blues (amazing music ppl, worth a listen), Hip-Hop (NYC baby!) break-beat, electro clash, as well as Trance (psy) and DnB - all kinds of music (but no rock or heavy metal, give me some credit) - but none of it can match the hardcore feeling.
Before that I was of course fixated with the first wave of hardcore!
As syanide said, I can't understand why more people don't realise how amazing it is!

what isn't it about hardcore mate. hardcore has got it right in everyway, the message, the attitude, the style. the lot. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Its relentless happiness & exuberance that it shows in every track or mix thats ever been made, if its a rainy day, i'd rather listen to an uplifting track like Angel Eyes or Fly Away than some depressing song by the Verve or Travis ect.
Im only young and i have no time in my life to be brought down by the music of negative people.

I'm addicted to bass. Literally. The way it reverbs and vibrates through your body. The subtle tones of a bassline that kinda makes your voicebox feel as though it's making a noise, but it's not you doing it, it's the music. And then your feet start to tap and soon your whole body wants to jump around to it. Wicked fun!
