Sup ppl,
I was wondering around what time (roughly) old skool started turning into the music it is now. Was it a long porcess, or did it all happen very quickly? Im guessing it was around bonkers 8 or 9. From 9 it just seems to evolve into a newer sound with each cd. Dont get me wrong tho, old skool bangs completly...but it has nuthin on the shit thats coming out now.
Cheers,
Syanide

Old skool... In 94'ish it started changing, afaik.
And if your talking about HHC turning into the New stuff, then around '99-01 Was the transition period, And in 2000 everyone were trying new things. :)

I would say there was a lot of changes in the hardcore scene, even in the earlier days. If you listen to the early Bonkers and HH CDs, you can hear the music style progressing. Just listen to Hixxy's mixes on Bonkers 1-4!
As for the change to the newer style - the first time I ever heard a really uplifting trancy sound was when Hixxy returned to Bonkers for 7. When was that? 1999?

Uplifting trance on Bonkers 7?? Haha, you've got to be joking..
Even so... The trance on that is WAY different from the stuff now.

I suppose, but I do see similarities between Hixxy mix on 7 and the new sound. At least the change in style. He remixed Binary Finary ffs!
Anyway, I'm not really a fan of uplifting trance so I don't give it much attention - wouldn't know the difference between good and bad.

You really think so? The music now is (in my humble opinoin) not better, but a hell of alot more powerfull.

Don't get me wrong, I love the music now, some terrific tunes being released, but my heart is in the past...
