I don't really mind if there are trance versions of hardcore tracks. - If it puts the producers and artists "on the map" then fair enough.

Also, trance lovers could argue the point in reversal when hardcore artists and djs play, remix or timestretch original trance tracks.

I agree with MC BoNe when they commercial a HARDCORE TUNE and put it on a crapy dance c.d it's so annoyin! Then you get people sayin wats the name of that fat dance tune and then dance gets all the gud reviews coz they r listenin to a commercialised hardcore tune but they don't have a ****in clue.so people think its dance and dance takes all the crd.but u try tellin people that the song is a HARDCORE TUNE(breeze& styles) they just say well this is better but they have not listened to HARDCORE or want even give it a chance. So if you dont like HARDCORE don't go buy a commercialised HARDCORE tune play it death then say its shit.YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO.

Sorry Bone, I miss-read your original post. Yeah I see what your saying now.

This agrument about people doing commercial stuff to make a living doesn't hold with me. Slipmatt and SY, for example, have been doing music for years without seeing the need to create a big chart presences like Breeze & Styles are doing now.

I reckon the increasing 'attitude' you see at raves is coming from the townies who are being brought into the scene from the commerical side of hardcore.

You'd be surprised!

Most hardcore producers I can think of do stuff other than hardcore in order to pay the bills:

B&S: a bit obvious really, Your Shining, Heartbeatz etc
Hixxy: Also does the odd remix for AATW too
Recon: Ultrabeat
Scott Brown: He released a commercial version of "Turn Up The Music" and has also done a number of commercial remixes too
Sy: *censored*
Bang! (Nick Arnold): apart from the obvious letting Flip n Fill cover Shooting Star, he gets commercial releases on a number of his tracks under various guises.

Those are just some of the bigger names, I could start going into the smaller names who are much more anonymous when it comes to their non-hardcore releases.... the fact is, hardcore doesn't pay the bills. Most producers and labels do it out of love, not greed.

Those that don't release music under other genres do do other stuff besides hardcore production.... be it a standard office job or whatever, or something else within the entertainment/media industry...... general engineering work, web design, sound design etc. The fact is, if you love producing dance music, then why should you get slagged off for choosing to do that instead of (eg.) working in a 9-5 office job? I know which I'd rather do..... and anyone who chooses to slag me off for that can kiss my Akai!

...as long as they use alter-egos and make fresh tunes that havent originated from hardcore it doesnt bother me.
