Hi
I was wondering wat the opinion outhere in raver land is on the great drug debate, i love goin out to Hardcore events and im not goin to stop this but, i have noticed since goin out on the rave scene more and more lately that i talk to alot of ravers who have eithier given up taking ilegal drugs or just dont take um at all.
I also spoke to a guy on here recenty to and we where goin to meet up at a rave but he asked me about the drug debate and wat i thought of it and when i mentioned i sometimes take a couple of E's he never messaged me back again.
So is the world of ravin changing?? have people fallen out out of love with drugs? i would like to hear from other ravers wat they think and do about this subject.
Please let me know, and how do you keep yourself goin all night if you decide to avoid um.

this will be a standardised, and generalised answer for a vast majority of the rave community. Drugs do not make the rave.
We go to raves because we like the music. the drugs do not make the rave enjoyable. if u don't enjoy the rave without drugs then maybe your not supposed to go to them. i did take drugs a couple of times and it doesn't really improve things for me. what keeps me going is hearing an immense outro of a tune during a mix, or hearing one of my favourites come on.
Some people would say drugs help enhance the experience. i would say that it would dull it because if your not in full awareness, how can you enjoy everything thats going on.
i wouldn't tell someone that they can't do drugs (even if i did have that power) because it is up to the individual to decide. i personally don't think they're neccesary, although have been known to dabble. 
now if u'll excuse me i got the munchies and need to eat this pepperoni pizza in front of me before i collapse

I think I would be well qualified to get in on this one...
I used to do drugs cos it was the "in" thing to do. I was a young impressionable 15yo back then. I got bored of pills very quick - by 16 and don't really do much else. Ok so I'm a big (weed) stoner. But this drug has nothing to do with my raving other than as an aftersess (and being a weedhead EVERYTHING is an aftersess...  ).
My only problem with hardcore raves is staying until the 6am-ish distance. It's not easy without something to keep you awake, be it adrenaline, redbull, proplus or something a bit more stimulating... Off topic: why do raves start at about 9pm and finish at 6am? Why can't they start at 6pm and finish at about 3am like a night designed for humans and not bats???
Take the H-H scene though. That is ALL about drugs. It's getting too much now and annoys the hell out of me. Clubbers are just not as into the music, most of them can't dance and the rest are either stupid of have had the heads fuct by too many drugs. Hardcore is much more drug free and much better for it IMO.
You should go for the music. If you have to go for the drugs, the people, the scene, the in-crowd etc, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons... (I'm a raver not a ***ing drug addict!)
Personally the best nights I've ever had have been when I'm completely sober. Mates who used to/still do do pills would agree with me on this. The night can be surprisingly good without drugs.

No but don't let it stop you if it's what your into IMO too many people are too touchy about people doing pills and it anoys me.

i've been to 2 raves both of which went on from 9pm till about 11am the next morning and i kept awake at both no problem without drugs!!!
Why o why cant you just accept it..im a raver not a crazy drug addict!!

I'm with bulby do what you want to do, i cant stand people preaching it's your only life so live it how you want. I don't smoke but i dont feel it gives me the right to look down on people that do or keep pestering them to stop. I will say though even in my time in the rave scene i've noticed a lot more straight ravers recent and i think this is a good thing, and i have been to raves on no substances and still had a crackin time. Mostly though tbh me and my mates feel we would like a bit of a session and the most fun place for us to do that is out raving listening to some of our fav dj's surrounded by good people. another thing i've noticed is that a lot more of the people who use these sites seem to be drug free than people at raves. I think this is probably because to talk day in day out about this music it must really have an impact on you, but it's pretty obvious to see at any big slammin type event a lotta the crowd are simply there to get mashed up and have a bounce with there group of mates. Techno and old skool rooms tend to be a better for crowds and atmosphere imo but i love experiencing it all.

drugs may make a night better i wouldnt know as i havnt done them, but i still have wicked nights out

by that i mean dont go chewing your face off and whatnot
if you are going to do drugs then keep it to yourself
drugs dont make the rave
totally true
i got bored of pills in about 3 or 4 months
get a good nights sleep the night before
and youll be ready to go ann night
you know what gets you better then high?
