Hardcore should take a step back and recall the good but not very old times of the late 90's. This doesn't necessarily mean that it must go backwards, in contrast, hardcore being produced the way it is these days can be easily combined with the proper happy/uplifting sounds/vocals of few years ago.
That is, keep the upfront hardcore engineering (if not try to improve it even further) of 2004 and produce happy hardcore as Seduction & Stompy do in Maximum Impact (8 and 9 to be released next monthe and Jan 2005).
We want Trancey synths and upfront sounds combined nicely with happy piano rythms and vocals, something that sounds better than the happy hardcore of the mid 90's from the engineer's point of view!
That's what I think anyway,
Cheers

being a freeformer, i would love to see producers bringing back the sounds/styles of the older material i.e. 'Ultraworld 5', 'Therapy' etc and incorporate those into a hybrid sound for today's market.
for the 'cheesier' side of hardcore, again, a hybrid would be good. i'm thinking less trance/vocals and more grit, so perhaps tracks similar to 'Liquid Nights' or 'The Underground' by Dionoiss
