well i was lookin over my swim schedule and i noticed how much we have practices. it maes me mad. we have practice every day 7-9 on weekdays and 3 hrs sat. no practice sunday. its like that every week. we dont even get off for holidays. only for the holiday itself. like thxgiving. we only had off thurs. we still had practice weds and fri.

and b/c we had off of school they were 3 hour practices. isnt that to much. i mean who is gona be able to swim the day after thxgiving when ur tired and still drugged up from tryptophan. ur gonna be snkin to the bottom from all the food u ate.

the i noticed on xmas we still got practice everyday. even xmas eve.

I suppose it has to be that way if you're intending to make it as a swimmer (or indeed a serious athlete of any kind).

If it was just a leisure thing, surely it would be a lot less intensive?

Arguably one of the best

stick at it man.

i stopped swimming for the exact same reason about 4-5 years ago, and it was only in the past couple of years I realised I'd made a huge mistake. Not only does it help on your way to becoming an athlete but in terms of college/university it helps for admissions and grants.

Just remember, wen ur receiving ur olympic gold medal, ditch the national anthem and make them play toytown!

if you stick with it will show maturity and dedication. it's a really good way to prepare yourself for college as far as time management. plus looks pretty good on a resume

I was in orchestra, camerata (elite orchestra =P) and 2 jazz bands when I was in high school. not to mention playing soccer & being in the japanese club. sure it took away from social functions but looking back on it, it was worth it.

and wow, brian...u sounded like some nerdy kid. lol no offense tho.

gee thanks. I still am though, just changed my haircut and facial hair =P

it was nice though because we would get money for playing events, plus we got to travel quiet a bit.
