ive never been a big fan of Dj's who play there own stuff all the time. Sy & Unknown spring to mind, Breeze and Styles do it, Hixxy does it ect, i know they want to promote there own work, but i think it was more fun when Dj's played diffrent artist's music, diffrent sylee you see. Playing the same style tunes over n over again will soon get stagnent.

Scott Brown only plays his own stuff all the time in sets in england and on cd's he makes. He's a crowdpleaser and plays what people want to here. When i saw him play in glasgow it was all his and other labels old bouncy stuff cos thats what people wanted, in holland and harder events he plays full on bangin gabber his own and loadsa neophytes, and i've even got a set from x-que in spain where he plays on 3 decks with his own stuff, makina, gabber and pitched up trance. Think thats what it comes down to nearly all the big main room dj's play a set almost entirely of their own stuff at events cos i think people have come to expect it. I totally agree with moris though a lot more interesting to be able to mash up all kinds of styles but it still seems to work at events.

My opinion aye, well I havent heard him live, just on cd's. And on cd's ya do it, till you get it right so I duno if hes perfect on the decks. And I cant say if hes the best producer, theres too many GREAT ones. Hes my fav DJ though, and hes a very styly guy :p

Sorry? People have a problem with Scott Brown playing his own stuff? He's the t!ts and probably always will be. The amount of stuff he turns out, he must have real problems sleeping at night with all the ideas and melodies rushing through his mind that MUST be happening all the time. lol poor chap, give him some support.
I'm not saying he first got me into hardcore, but he's certainly the first DJ and producer I identified as being standout-ishly talented. That was about 10 years ago! Sy & Unknown must be next on the list...
One of the best things about Scott Brown is the way he always takes you on a journey on his mixes. Starting off a bit Trancey/freeform ending up hard on gabba and he does it with ease. A DJ journey is always a personal affair from the DJ to you and you have to respect that.
