If everyone was to live until 1000 the world would be packed.
Remeber that people used to live about 30-40 years. Well, if you get cancer, i sure hope you'll get the best med care that is possible :)

we can't...by the time our lives are over, the world is going to be complete hell. humans are really screwing with things.
humans may be able to live till they're 200+ but doesn't anyone remember learning about the phases stars go through or whatever??
but, i'd only want to live for 1000 years IF that meant that my youth would be expanded...

knew this would make a good topic ;)
a few people actually need to read the full thing though as alot of people seem to be missing what was said and jumping to conclusions
"none of that time would be lived in frailty and debility and dependence - you would be youthful, both physically and mentally, right up to the day you mis-time the speed of that oncoming lorry."
people are now living past 100 years, which like someone pointed out earlyer, was deemed impossive hundreds of years ago.
now we can plant people on the moon, grow GM ears on the back of mice, clone sheep (and humans im more than sure)...
1000 years sounds a bit far fetched yes, but who am i to argue with some top science boff at cambridge! lol
what i find most exicting about people working for advancements like this, is the fact that this could mean cures for a whole range of disease's, including alzheimer's!!

If we would live 1000 years, it may give a whole new meaning to a lot of things. I mean most people that are polluting the planet dont give a **** to what type of world their kids are going to live in. But if it would have huge effect to their own lives, there could be some changes to the current way.
Also it might be, that if lets say populating other planets was possible, people wouldnt care anymore about the environment. Humans could become like grasshoppers, who invade a planet, destroy it, and move to another planet... and that, would be a little ironic ;)

its a great idea.
problem is that when powerful people get their hands on a great idea it becomes a destructive tool.
his heart's in the right place but it can only mean bad things for everyone if the mentality of the world stays in that 3-6 age grouping that its in.
1000 years would be nice. and i know i wouldn't get bored. since they can repair body damage at the cellular level i would go on a 300 year bender of whatever I could get my hands on, followed by a 100 year coma detox. that should be about equal to the teenage years of today, right ?

I got an email about 4 years ago saying that russian scientist found a way for "immortality". Basicly it was the exact same thing as this, it will stop ageing in cellular level etc. The email said that pass the email to as many as i know, otherwise this would only become possible for the rich and powerful people (government would try to hide it from public cause of overpopulating etc). It also had a link to a site explaning the whole thing. Me being intrested in conspirasy theories, saved the email and thought id read the story later when i was bored, the site was closed a week later, scary?

You can't live for 1000 years.
If this WAS possible.. think of the amount of overpopulation, and strain on the world's food supply, the cost of health care
Extending everyone's life 900 years would screw the world up hardcore.

well, unless we stopped being pussy's and started eating GM ;)
and moved to the moon, i mean, they're talking 20 years time, im sure we will either have made some advancement, or torn ourselves up.
i think the real issue here is..
..will this be a money back guarantee? :P
