What really gets me is that if I said I was offended by anything that a black, asian etc etc said to me and I tried to claim racism it would not be taken as seriously as if I were black and offended by a white person.

Also I have a few more questions:

If I started an organisation that celebrated the efforts and achievements of white people only I would be branded a racist for excluding other races. I do not disagree with this, I don't think anyone should not be included because of the colour of their skin. This is what racism is. So why are the Black media awards allowed to continue? Also the mobo awards(where white peple are booed off stage by the crowd). It shouldn't one rule for one and another for others. Kicking out racism should be for everyone who is discriminated against for the colour of they skin whether they are black, white, asian, martian or whatever.

I agree but most Whites still need to get over Racism, they are the Primary race(Thankfully thats changing and other races are getting involved :) ) and that's why the Ethnic 'Minorities' have their own little versions of things..

And Emmy, I agree about the Kebab thing being pathetic, it's just stupid.

the brits had great achievements, they sure showed those indians =P

and I've heard black people call each other nigger & nigga so I have yet to see the difference between them. people need to drop the slang terminology and go back to proper english =P

every year I feel racism becomes less due to most of our elders who have held grudges against a certain race die out

I personally want to hear more white people call each other cracker =P

I think what is pathetic is the double standards by the people setting policy in the world. This is about some gobsh!te history of various imperialist occupations by our white nations, that due to misguided leadership we are made to feel guilty about. Sorry but this is old news and happened long before I was born. Why am I being made to feel guilt about it? Just cos I'm white, doesn't mean I don't know better than the greedy actions of my forbears. Just because I'm white I'm a prejudged racist.

In fact I'm probably the least racist person you could meet. I don't see races, I see people. Yeah what Ron Atkinson said was wrong and he's there to set an example for a sport which has a racism problem. That's why he got sacked. the sad fact is, no-one took into account he's just a person like anyone else.

If this is a democracy one rule should apply to all. If it's illegal to shout profanities from a white person to a black person then the reverse should also be true. But it's not.

It's called equality. Something this world doesn't seem to have grasped yet.

Mattikake and excessive are both spot on. Fair play a lot of bad shit happened in this world in the past to many different races and religions and still does, but no way am i gonna spend my life feeling i owe people something for things that happened before i was born and i didnt do. I take everyone for who they are faults and all, but i have to say there's a lot of hypocrisy in some black peoples views on rascism in this country. I agree especially on the point that white people aren't allowed to celebrate our heritage whereas black people are. Dunno how this has happened but our nations flag the union jack is seen as rascist by some people, plus things like notting hill parade is encouraged as a great celebration of culture yet orange walks are seen as wrong. To me we should all be allowed to celebrate who we are and even enjoy some of each others cultures but the way things are going it's getting worse rather than better. Regarding Ron Atkinson he's definitely gotta catch up with the way life is today and what he said was wrong but equality has to work both ways.

Yea, it comes from spanish word Negro (black) and latin word Niger (black). Its the situation were it was used that makes it a racist word. I have a dictionary from 1970, and there are words like N****r music -> African music etc etc. Now though the word is "illegal", but it used to be a normal word, thats why some of the non-racist older people still use it, at least i think so.

Have to agree with the other things Excessive said though, and i remember a small article from a newspaper. Guy was coming from a football match, still had finnish flags painted to hes cheeks, when he was going home, there came 3 guys from some ethnic minority, calling him a racist cause of the flags and the guy almoust got beaten. Who do you think was the racist? Dont get me wrong though there are white racist people too, but its not just the white people.

Where I live, in Leicester, whites are actually now officially the minority. So I wish people wouldn't call them Ethnic Minorities because they're not in some parts of the country.
