Well, if by old skool you mean 1991-1994 then hell yeah, I'm all about that. But from about 1995-1999 i didn't much care for a lot of what was being released apart from a track here and there and some stuff coming out of mainland Europe. But I also really enjoy the new freeform style and some of the more tech-ish sounding stuff coming out of Gammer's mind about as much as I enjoy my oldskool. So I'm going to say both.
Hell. There should only be one choice: HARDCORE! ;)

I don't understand why people are saying all hardcore listeners should love breakbeat Hardcore, Gabba, CheeseCore, oldschool, trancecore, etc... Personally, I only like 2 genres within this scene (trancecore and freeform). Gabba doesn't appeal to me because if I want to mosh...I'll just go to a death metal show, cheese sounds like crap to me, and breakbeat just doesn't do anything for me. I also think this way in other scenes!!! I only like listening to Hard Acid Techno (in the techno scene), trancestep and tech step in the DnB scene, and Hard Acid Trance, German Trance, Armin Van Buuren trance, and some Nu Nrg from the trance scene. I like picking and choosing my music genres within each scene and I like my raves as multi-genred as my music tastes.

No dude, I swear they're different. I'm sure all you dance music junkies have heard of Ishkur's guide to electronic music (on di.fm). I personally think he's pretty accurate on the SMALL differences between trancecore and freeform. We'll if you've never heard of Ishkur's site, here's the link...and make sure to click on the hardcore section.
