Personally I don't give a fuk if people don't like the music I'm into. In fact I actually prefer it. People who don't like my music are exactly the kind of people I'm not interested in "hanging-out" with. Type of music says a lot about a person - and why they prefer it. Anyone who is into hardcore I can be pretty sure has similar tastes to me and vice versa. I class people who follow the flow and are not prepared to try anything else as mindless drones. They don't like that. 
If they cuss my music I just cuss theirs saying it's too slow. There never is a comeback from you telling them their music is slow and therefore crap, especially if they realise by this point that you're expressing an opinion.
At the end of the day I know what I like and I am not prepared to change my tastes to suit other people. These are your tastes. Anyone with a brain knows it's pointless to start an arguement about personal opinions (tastes). Swtich to the higher level instead and start explaining how you can't argue over an opinion...

Yeh, like evry1 else, I get PISSED off as ppl dont give it a chance. I explain to them that I accept what they listen too so why can't they. If they still persist I rip their music to shreds (not literally I just take the piss) and it usually works coz im canny loud and it shuts them up. Well hey, i gave them a chance dammit!!! Not everyone is narrowminded as sum1 sed b4. I met a new kid at work nd we talked about music nd hes really into metal and I told him i listened to hardcore and he took the piss at 1st but then he realised i love hardcore like he loves his rock so he was sweet and now he even wants to learn how to use decks!! (He still doesnt like the music mind)

Loadsa folks i no love hardcore when they here it even if only the odd tune. A lot of the older ravers dont no its still goin or are just finding out cos they thought people all moved on about 98.

I met a someone who worked in a recording studio that loved hardcore in the late 80's/early 90's....and didn't know there was 4/4 hardcore...

Our physics teacher lets us put music on in our physics class, and i put some hardcore on and sum msher types sed its "too cheerful" (depressing bastards!) so i looked thro my cds and looked for the heaviest track i had and put it on. the teacher got a bit pissed but the moshers thought it was alright

If they knew what they were talking about, and indeed, had a valued opinion, then they wouldn't have said it, so don't worry about it :)
They probably said what they said to insult you or the music because they don't like it, not because they actually think it or at least, mean it. And that's often the case with alot of things.
