Today I went out, did some stuff with my friends, and ended up biking all round Dunedin. We went to a friend of mines friends, and while there I got bored, I asked him if he minded me puting on some Hardcore. He said yeah sure, so I did. Low and behold, when we were out having a bbq with bonkers12 Mr Browns mix blaring inside. Another friend of mine also there, went inside to do something and another also. I heard them talking (they wernt very carfull not to let me hear) and what were they saying? How much my music sucked! My friends friend thinks that kind of music (Dance) is ice skating music what a retard.

I couldnt believe it! Heres a friend of mine whos into rock, I love rock aswell. I have the utmost respect for his music, and here he is just cause its not what he likes, talking behind my back about it! To makes things worse, the friend of a friends dad came home. As soon as he heard it he goes... you boys should be ashamed of listening to that crap music. I couldnt argue with him about it, as it would be inapropriate since I was a guest there. Honestly though, it sadens me to hear these things and angers People can be so narrow minded, about one of the coolest things around MUSIC! (its got to have a guitar and singing to be music ooooo bla bla bla I'm so sterio typical and know everything)

Not to get people down (as there have been similar topics) I went to the gym afterwards to burn of some steam. I feel better by the way I was walking home, and for the very 1st time EVER I heard something strangly familiar. Coming from some car (there was to many to tell) fast sonic bass with happy melodies and the lyrics HERES JOHNNY! I couldnt believe it, made me happy that I wasnt the only in NZ listening and playing HARDCORE!

Sorry that I complained about yet another, narrow minded person but hey at least it ended well

HaRdCooo o o o o o o o ore! Hardcore you know the score!

uh-huh
i don't get it. i think most of us have respect for our friend's music but all they do is make fun of our music. music is something for us to enjoy, not to criticize everything about it. ...yesterday i was listening to a song by maroon 5 and i didn't know what genre it'd be under, so i asked my sister. and she was just like, it's crap music...i was like wtf!? i never understand when people say that. just b/coz u dun lyk it doesn't mean it's crap and you shouldn't go on and on about it, as if it were. why can't you just say, you don't like it? and that's that. why do you have to say it suxs, bladdy blah blah!

Yeah I get that all the time. "Why do you listen to this techno crap?" "So boring." I'd say drag there ass to a rave and then see what they think. I did that with my ex and all she'd listen to is hard rock but now she's a full blown little e-tarded raver chic listening to the loud, exciting magic tunes we call techno.

Especially Parents!!! Well mine anyway. I listened to electronic music in my room constantly and when they call me down for dinner, they'd look at me like I was from outer space! hhhhhmmmm.... or maybe I am from outer space:o

I'm haveing the hardest time finding others who like HHC or other type of elec. music in my area so I feel like I'm all alone. which is why I'm on this site a lot. I mean I look at all the members on this site and most are from other countries but USA. Washington state is supposed to be one of the best raver state in the US but it dosn't seem good enough to me.

lol, only person in NZ who likes hardcore, bummer =(

people don't like what the they don't understand, we can say that we are over purgitory and seregation, but we see it all the time in smaller forms all around the world. Ive got a mate that absolutely hates techno, ( hes in a band, and heavily studies music) , but he comes to every other rave i go to. Why? the atmosphere.
hardcore is the only style of music, that is focused on uniting people =p. There is no safer or friendlier place mentally or physically at rave. So **** em ^_^

Thats sweet about the end of your story! A little something to pick you up when you were down. That is really uncool of your friend/ friends friend. Why couldnt they say it to your face? If you dont like music someones playing you could just ask them to turn it off. Yeah some people have no respect. But hey! There are tuns of us out there who feel the same about happyhardcore and understand. Your definatly not alone. :)

Hello, I love you.

If you want to get newcomers interested, it's probably not such a good idea to start with Scott Brown, that's like throwing a non-swimmer in the deep end of a swimming pool. Better to start in shallower waters, if you know what I mean.

You have to remember that non-hardcore listener's brains aren't capable of accepting the rapid music information coming into their ears. LOL

Think of them as newborn babies that are completely ignorant to the world around them.

Seattle washington has a thriving hardcore community including some pretty big name dj's for the area. There have been dj's in and out of seattle that carry big names in the hardcore area like Scott Brown, Luna-C, Simon Apex, Dj Spree, Dj Cloudskipper, and local dj's like Dj Dummy, Dj Jimni Cricket, Pandemonium, Elise Elixer, Lil Terror, Mc Verbal, most dj's in the 21 Crew, Funshine Crew, Pussycat Productions. There are at least 2-3 events a month and the go off! I find and post as many Pacific NW events as I can find. So to say that there is a weak hardcore community in your state does not do any justice to the people and dj's that create this scene. Check out the Events page as I posted a new event on there that happens in Feb. Hope to see you around and Welcome to the Washington State Hardcore Community, Hope you enjoy your stay!

Respect
Dj Ritalin

Yeah could be, they're not evil friends, other wise I wouldnt have anything to do with them. They're just ignorant and to atuned to the way of the media.

I don't think actually know anyone else in 'real life' that likes it anymore, those few that got me into it have all since lost interest, but I still love it, probably more than ever recently.
