Now that Happy Hardcore is back, do you think break beats will ever come back? I'm picturing the rave music that made hardcore and jungle, skittery stompers with distorted drum rolls. There is still a lot of break beat in drum and bass, but there isn't an overwhelming amount of it in happy hardcore. Breaks (in Canada) are too Funky, and make nu school sound 'old'. Everyone at D & B nites get all sloppy and excited woo hooing the rolling bass lines and stripped down evil sounds.
They play break beat style Jungle at the start of the night. In our sister city, the Djs play bigger break beats. I think one day hiphop will have big break beats, like "Let your Back Bone Slide!"
