Makina (in the sence of Hardcore) is a spanish variation of Happy Hardcore, but like Hardcore it has different styles (i dont know any names, except Base)
most Makina tracks are built up simular to Hardcore, except Makina is more melody driven, and uses alot mor uplifting samples like pitched up bee sounds

Listen to some of the sets on www.sbthq.net. Especially javi trackers ones.
Makina dj's use a technique called 'BCN style' (as it was developed in barcelona). Bacially it is constant mixin with more than 2 decks. Older makina is quite cheesey but the new stuff is really pumping, kinda like a hardcore/german trance crossover. Makina is great, it mixes with anything (hardstyle/german trance/gabber/uk hardcore etc) and sounds super good when a nice base track is played over the top.

makina's my favorite genre by a long shot.....its chhesy, and dead bouncy.

^^ Over here in Japan I have heard that the Hardcore music style is really catching on. ^^; I would attend such events if my age was not a factor.

Personally i think Japanese Hardcore is awesome :D You should check out DJ Sharpnel, RaverRose, Shadow K, KillingScum, Shimamura, Tpa:pbr, M-Project, Technetium etc etc :)
