Just looking at the concerts and what not to do with NAHM and its ur hacings raves and shit but is it really doing anything??? I mean come on techno in the united states is a joke, there very few raves, on either coast, what we need to do is to introduce an shit load of techno/trance/hardcore into mainstream because ova here you can move with out MTV and VH1 even though i dispise them. The only people who have even broken into the U.S. mainstream is The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, Fat Boy Slim, and a little bit of ATB/Darude in the early 90's. We dont need just one hit wanders people we need strings of great techno, and people to actully buy the albums before you can start a NAHM. Over here techno is very underground and honelsty i get ridiculed for listing to it, cause ova here all it is shitty pop rap and them emo rock shit it blows, we need a NAHM but we need to crack mainstream first

You should first check what the scene is like in US, as your post makes no sence. Also in early 90's Darude made music with tracker programs in hes bedroom. Sandstorm (his first official release) was being played here at bars by local DJ's in '98. It was the worlds best selling 12" vinyl in 2000, only after that he started playing in US more. So early 90's is a bit wrong.

First of all how do you know whats its like in the US, you don't even live here. Granted there is not much of a scene but its growing. The West coast is blowing up with alot of new hardcore talent and partys are becoming alot more common.

We want to build a scene but this takes time...things do not happen overnight. But the scene IS growing and will continue to grow. yaddam205, its only going to grow if people like yourself think about HOW to build the scene insted of yell at other people about it when your not doing anything about it yourself, you will get nothing out of complaing about it.

Love the music, spread the word, tell your friends, don't be afraid. The scene will grow, just give it some time.

personally my favorite bit of this post is

"vaddam ur dumb, dont post ur opinions no more u lil 14 year old."

spoken like a true 14 y/o :P

he has a point though, it isnt taken seriously over here, and thats because some many people still call it "techno"

how can you take something seriously when you give it a such a crap name?

..and the USA has far too many candy kids...of course no-ones going to take us seriously! rofl

As the coordinator and creater or NAHM, I've seen a lot of what this show can do and where it is going. You have a point, NAHM can't be hugely successful until it's mainstream...

but how do we crack mainstream without NAHM or something like it?

The numbers don't lie, since we started the live show 4 months ago our average listeners has raised dramatically. We stream in one 4 hour show what most hardcore radio station stream in an entire month. You can also look at this site, once the show got rolling record numbers signed up and a lot of them were from N.A. Ever since you can see the average #s are much higher than 6 months ago.

and on a personal note, it has happend a few times that I'll be at a party - playing or not - and I've had people come up to me and say they love the show and and how much they appreciate it running. There isn't a much better feeling than that to know the work you're putting in is making a difference to someone somewhere.

So is NAHM a hopeless goal? Hell no, it's a goal so full of hope because there is so much that has not been done for hardcore, let alone dance music, in north america - and it's making a difference. In fact if anyone needs help or is looking to get stations going or wants to get involved please get in touch I'm quite willing to help if I can.

Thank you =)
