I was wondering what's your method of matching beats to happy hardcore as well as jungle...do u use digital readouts...or what...give me any feedback to what u guys think is the "best" way to beat match 150+bpm music...peace

hrmm....and to think all this time ive been using my ears! silly me! 
seriously though..sure, the dig display helps, but ive found my ears work a lot better...im not going to take a machine's word for it..cos even with a dig display, you could be a little bit off...and not ALL mixers have that readout...so you best learn how to do it without.

well... I know that using your own ears is your best bet...the thing is, I've got breakbeat matching and trance beat matching down...all that is left is tha 150+ bpm stuff...I wanna be a versatile DJ u know...be able to myx anything, anytime...well thanx for ur feedback though Tempest...I guess it'll take me some time for tha hardcore/jungle beats besides...I just got y turntables 2 months ago and I'm hard at practice

It will take time, I suggest if you can already beat mix slower tunes, to buy two copies of the same records over your 150+BPM limit and then without using 0 on the pitch and without really looking at the pitch and just using your eyes match them up. Once you get this down, get two same type sounding records and try and try and try to beat mix them back and forth until you get it.
Once you can "hear" the difference in from the speakers and what is in your headphones you can then figure out what adjustments you need to make to each record (slower or faster).

The way I do it is exactly opposite of how I match trance. With trance and most 4X4 music Ill listen for the kick drum and match them up on the 2 records. With some HHC intros and especially D&B and HHC mixing ill listen to the High Hats or whatever the highest pitched sound in the 2 records are and match them. It makes it a lot easier since the bass sounds are different and most Hats and high pitched sounds are short and about the same Freq ^_^

Actually, at slower speeds there is more space between each beat to lose your speed.  I've found for the most part, faster speeds are easier to mix (imho). A basic tip I would give you is that when you've got Track A playing, get to the beginning of Track B and when u let go of the record, keep it "on beat" with your fingers while working the pitch. "On Beat" meaning that its right with the other track 1-2-3-4 etc. I can't stress how important it is to get it on the same beat/measure as the other track. You don't want the snare to be hitting when the first bass drum comes in... even if it is match, it will just sound bad. This right here is the problems I see most amateur up and coming djs making.
I don't really see the 150+ speed really being that much of an obstacle. You just have to get used to it and understand its energy and flow. If you had me spin a 135-140bpm house set after doing one of my normal 175-180 hardcore sets... it would feel much harder i think. With slower speeds and a 4 to the floor beat, you've got to be exact or else the crowd is gonna hear every mistake you make. Not necessarily with something like deep house though, because the percussion is very involved.
But anyways, practice that tip i described above. If you get it... beatmatching will be a synch for you. I can beatmatch stuff within 10-20 seconds now most of the time, which allows me to take off the record and do a lil scratching now and then too. (wish i had a third table...)
oh and digital readouts... BAH!! they will just mess you up. don't let a machine try and tell you whats what!!

ay soren thanx for ur input man...and to sunrize...thanx a bunch too for tha info...that is hella quick for you to do beat matchin in 20 seconds...it takes me a good minute b4 I can even get trance down!...anyways I will try both soren and sunrize's ways...I know I will have to come up with my own way one day...but I'll just give it a shot...also...I am wanting not just to fade my songs now, but aslo I really would like to beat match an entire song and myx on top of another song...thats why I guess I'm kinda goin off on beat matching...I do think trance is easier though soren...I guess I'm just a trancehead...but anyways...I'm start skratchin too hiphop/hhc/whatever...thank u all for ur input...it will help me greatly in tha future...to sunrize...I downloaded your megamyx...it's off tha hizzzzy....peace.

You're right sunrize. For me it's also how faster how easier..
Also the best thing to start beatmatch is to get 2 records with a good kickdrum :) And make sure the record you are trying to match is starting with a simple bass (no other funny sounds)

right.. a simple kick is the best way to learn. then once you get better into it u can do more advanced stuff like match on basslines and such.. Beatmatching is the most important aspect of spinning and this should be learnt to its maximum.. too many people worry about scratching and whatnot, when they cant even really beatmatch that well.
Once you can get beatmatch pretty quickly then you can do things like while one is playing... throw in a vocal bit of "love of my life", people will identify with that and go nuts.. but then cut it out and throw down the next track... and maybe put in love of my life a couple tracks down the line
Beatmatching will allow you to do cuts with (almost) technical perfection. I'm sorry but anymore a set that just goes from Track A to Track B in the "designated" intro/outro points with no cutting, no scratching, etc.. isn't really anything special, no matter how perfect your transfers are.
The biggest thing I'd say for an up-and-coming dj to do is practice originality. Play around. I would much more respect for a dj that did more scratching, cutting, and interesting tricks and trainwrecked here and there; over a person who just mixes from A to B doing nothing really.

word. i couldnt agree with you more. too many hhc dj's today sound the same...throw in some stuff other people dont do

Like... the time I threw down a part of this old 45 i have from when i was a child... it's that story about the lil train that had to make it up the mountain.. "puff and toot".. yeah well I matched that up perfect with a buildup from an Evolution track (second wave, i believe it may have been) and it sounded nice. really increased the effect of the build up!

I used to spin D&B, and the best way to match that I've found is cue up your second record by listening to the highs... ("Boom >click< Boom Boom >Click<"). When you've got those matched, you've essentially got the record matched- not much to it.
HHC- I usually go by the kick. It sounds coplicated, but with kicks make sure that the _beginning_ of the kick matches the beginning on the record being cued. It also helps to set your mind into cut time (2/4) while cuing.
