LOL, a DJ is supposed to mix. The main thing for DJ is to make a good mix. The tools the DJ uses to make that good mix are not important. As the listeners only hear and care about the music. I mean what next, office workers shouldnt use PC's cause thats "cheating"? :p
kinda just gone against what u just said there. u said a dj is supposed to mix.. u are exactly right.. but if the equipment is telling u everything the dj isn't mixing realy is he/she. i dj myself and would love cdj's but I love my vinyl, nothing like pulling of a perfect mix with no aid from digital flashing things telling me whats what.
there's nothing wrong with getting a bit of help, help is always good, but i was just saying what i thought was meant. sorry to try and be of help

My comment was aimed towards mixing with BPM counter, if i remember right you didnt say your opinion of them :p So no, it wasnt aimed directly to you, eventhough i quoted you ...and i did not go against myself with that one. If a DJ counts the BPM on his head or watchs it from a BPM counter, it makes no diffrence to the mixing. You still have to mix the tracks.

I prefer to mix on vinyl but am considering a cd deck so that I can play the tunes I have on cd (would never replace my decks though)!
I have noticed less and less dj's using vinyl at slammin etc.
