A bit of a random topic but I just can't seem to be able to solve this problem.
I downloaded an .avi video clip the other day but the problem is, when I come to play it in Media Player, the video is really really jerky and unwatchable. Anyone else encountered this problem before?

update your codec's
maybe the avi you are watching is a dvix file
which isnt supported by windows

Beef Jerky?
If your PC specs aint upto speed you might have to reduce the size of the window to watch it, or perhaps you don't have the codec lke Darren said.
it's all hardcore.

Yep that's my guess you'll need to update your codecs, both audio and video ones.

I have the same problem with avis, even after getting all the codecs. I covert them to MPEG which Winamp and Media Player can easily handle, and can be burned onto CD as a data disk to be played in a DVD player.

This sounds like the problem I've got BC, I've downloaded all the codecs too, but no luck. I'll try converting to an MPEG and see what happens.
Thanks for your help everyone
