quote:the original rocked, i feel you should only remix a song to make it beter & Breeze & styles screwed it up.
'Better' is not of relevance as people hve different opinions. Most tracks are remixed for a change of purpose, i.e Scott Brown remixing a Breeze and Style track, would probably go for a harder bouncier, and less trancey sort of thing, to compliment his style.
However, you are partially right, some classics shouldn't be touched at all.
But the track in question is simply a great track, but I doubt it has reached classic status yet. It needs more appreciation time that's all. We might call it a classic this time next year. Then again, some tracks become instant classics because they are groundbreaking or different, i.e futureset for having a big part in starting the trance inspired hardcore revival, or crazy love could have that sort of recognition because there's been way too many remixes! Bonkers 14 wins hands down, I listened to Clubland X-treme for maybe two days. While I enjoyed most of the songs, I realized that I couldn't listen to one CD all the way through without pulling my hair out in sheer boredom. How many Re-Con remixes can Styles put on one CD?! Hixxy's Mix, no sorry, Hixxy's BONUS TRACK SECTION, had some good tunes, but it seemed stale, although Bass Beats and Melody is good, and I rather enjoyed his little garage/hip-hop beat in Become One...Anyway, Bonkers 14, Hixxy's Mix was a real let-down, Dougal's was great, Scott Brown's had it's moments, and Sharkey's Mix is absolutely incredible. Worth every penny of Bonkers 14, or pence, or whatever. (I'm American.)
EDIT: Breeze's Mix is actually quite good, I love The Beat Kicks (Gammer Remix) But the variety of Bonkers 14 wins overall...and the end of Hixxy's Mix is excellent (Dark Like Vader, Rock Ya Hardcore (Hixxy Remix), and Let Me Hear Ya)
