It's still not available in Morrisons though, at least not in my nearest one.

I own plenty of very old tapes, and phrases like 'hardcore junglists' belong where they were said: in the past!

Does anyone in here wonder where their next paycheck is going to come from? I know that I will go to work and at the end of two weeks, I will recieve $1250.00. I know that is the case because today was payday. Now imagine that Your pay is not dictated by how many hours you work, but by how many units are sold of YOUR product. You do not go out and sell your product out of your trunk mind you, you trust that your label will have DISTRIBUTION . Now to that point, the distributors then put the product in varied places where music sales are generated. The only reason why you even find hardcore at your local shops is because enough people either requested it, or the shop owner has put it there.

I know some of the artists on this forum, and they work their asses off to A. Produce music B. Promote music and C. Reap the rewards of their work. I for one see no problems with commercialising hardcore, nor do I see a problem with selling hardcore cd's in well known department stores.

I remember one time when I was at a Hot Topic retail store, I saw Stealth's "Flower Needs the Rain" and Hixxy's & MC Storm's "Just Accept It" Now mind you that this store is a Commercial Idea of how Punk Rockers and Vampires and Ravers should dress. Do you know what I did with those records on the shelf? I bought the motherfuc*ers! There was no second thought about it because I wanted hardcore now!

Elitist idea of why hardcore can't be available to the mainstream is pretty lame.

Like what Sam and Sean said, Pay the artists, Let hardcore grow

the only thing i dont like about everywhere selling bonkers is that the prices go up as more poeple buy them. i got bonkers 12 and 13 from mvc for £12.99 and now bonkers 14 is like £14.99 to £15.99. but what a couple of Quid for a cd i'll listen to over and over again

I do see merge's point, and up until recently I sort of shared his opinion. BUT, at the end of the day, there is a chance that we wouldn't be here if hardcore had to rely on small independent shops which seem to go under every 5 minutes. It's survival of the fittest in this world and everything changes. Accept it.

Maybe in a few years time it won't be possible to walk into a record shop at all because it's all going to be online which scarily could happen sooner than we think the way things are progressing. Look how shopping habbits have changed since the internet became a part of everyday life.

If people want to buy Bonkers, they will. If they don't, they won't. The artists involved still get their money so where's the problem in buying it from a supermarket as opposed to an independent outlet? By being on a shelf at a supermarket it increases it's exposure which is a good thing! The artists need to survive one way or another. At least you saw it in a supermarket and not in a petrol station!

I do agree with you merge about the underground roots, but it's not about where we came from, it's about where we're going. Hardcore basically died a little while back and now it's a charged up behemoth! (I know I used that expression before but I thought it was so good I'd use it again ) so go with the flow or jump off - your call.

Wow, way to shit on everyone making and involved with hardcore.

What you are actualy saying is, they dont deserve the sales, and they dont deserve the extra exposure?

Well done man...

For a random peice of info, to get ASDA, Sainsburys or Tesco distribution you have to push REALLY hard, as the main company that does hardcore cd's SRD doesnt hit em, but pinnacle do, so ****in fairplay!

---> balls, lick my.

How many topics just like this have I seen? Too many! I haven't been in the scene for more than 3 years, but it has changed, some like it, some don't. Ever heard that saying "Life Sucks, Deal With it?"

Hardcore is changing, DEAL WITH IT!

none taken. It hasn't been a big change, but I have heard alot from those days, and could kind of guess how the scene was.
