Hey guys... I hate complaining about Hardcore, but i just wanna get this off my chest.
What the hell is gong on with Scott Brown and his cd mixes at the moment!? I mean like i can sort of understand the short tracks on his 10 Years Of Hardcore CD's coz there were a lot of tracks on each CD... But what the hell is going on with Bonkers 14!?
If you look he has only used about 65 minutes out of the 80 available on the disk! I mean COME ON! I hate the way he cut off Make You Freak. I was looking forward to having a full version of this as i think it's banging. But no, scott decides to cut it off. Also he could have extended Neckbreaker, Be Happy and Enemy. The full version of Enemy kicks ass!! But instead he chose to do short versions of them and cut off the CD 15 minutes early.
Then you get Hixxy's mix that has 3 LESS tracks, and manages 78 out of the 80 minutes!!!
It's not like Scott had short versions off all of them either... that's the really annoying thing. Into The Future is a full version, and a few others are aswell.
WHY!?

Thats just scots style of mixing, he mixes like that at events and its crossed over to the albums, he's playing full versions of the tracks but just cutting and slicing his way fru the mix.

I like it becasue
A. You get to hear tons of new material.
B. Hes very good at mixing and it shows off his skill.
C. If I want to hear the full track its pretty much coming out on evolution if he plays it so why not just wait.

Playing a shorter version of the track perhaps missing the hook the last time is really good for keeping it stuck in your head and keeping the tune fresh.

I always thought they cut tunes down to 2 or 3 min's to combat the CDJ's from taking tracks from mix CD's.

yeah i agree sometimes its annoying to have tracks changing, but on the other hand it really keeps the ball rolling and makes for really good listning sometimes.

I do my job because it puts Hardcore on the table.
yeah, but she plays all sorts of hardcore in her sets. alot of old, some new. She is like an oldskool dj from warehouse days where you hear a bunch of dj's all in one room. only thing is, she is all those dj's crammed into a tiny little wonder dj. she plays all sorts of styles of hardcore and jungle in a set
