Assuming you mean bass as in a bassline sound, synthesizers create the bass sounds, unless your reffering to a real bass :)

Both are very important. Try making a track without a bassline, jsut wont happen or trying to make a tune without a lead, nope. So they are both equal.

depends what ur aiming at.
stuff like syphax's "surroundings in blue" is pure synth, no kick, no beat, nothing and it can carry u away into another world just by listening and closing ur eyes.
But then again with a variety of kicks u can make decent stuff aswel.
Best is a mix of both though, as u al know. it just all depends on what u want to make

I disagree with that. Clearly you haven't heard Here to Stay. ;) Plenty of the older Hardcore tunes don't have leads and they're wicked.

I know what your saying, but I would consider the main part of the track piano line, stabs anything els that plays the main part of the track the lead. *hides from getting ganged up on* My point is, Kick, Bass and NOTHING els...what is there? Has to be piano or somthing. --------------------------------------- - Sean Apollo http://apollo.hardcoreforya.net http://www.happyhardcore.com North American Hardcore Movement Addictive Vinyl Empyre Records [email protected]
