I've been playing vinyl for about 12 years, and I am going to make the jump to CD very soon. With the cost of vinyl climbing, ability to easily play your own productions, and labels / producers offering up tracks for legal download, CD's just make more sense IMO.

I'm trying to resist the vinyl-junky way of life and sticking with cd-js for now.

I can see the attraction to CD decks from a practical and financial perspective, but I have to say, despite the "old" feel of vinyl, and the crazy costs, I have to stick with it... vinyl has a certain magic for me; there's something special about slapping the next vinyl down in your set and winding it on to the first beat. Cueing it up with my 2 middle fingers, moving to the beat... I just don't feel it the same with CD decks, they all feel a little too... compact!

there are pluses and minuses to both
since I enjoy turntablist, I pefer vinyl decks.
cdjs are great for unreleased/home made production stuff.

Vinyl, it just feels right. I dont like the digital factor of cdj's I like to be able to drop a needle on the que and just feel more in control on vinyl decks.

No worries. i cant really say wheather to go for cdj's or vinyl decks. maybe best to see what people think in this topic.
as for which decks to buy, id highly recomend a set of citronic pd1 mk2's for budget decks. with a £100-£150 mixer. the citronics are excellent for the price. roughly £400 and uve got yourself a set of decks and a mixer.
alternativly, you could browse ebay till something cheap comes up. ive seen a good few pair of second hand 1210's with mixers go for £400-£500.
or if you want to play it safe, just get a second hand set of citronics or the same sort of thing and see how u get on. they go for about £100-£150 with a mixer

I'll always personaly prefer vinyl over cd's but I would love CDJ's but would only consider having them ASWELL as my decks, NEVER as an alternative.
When I get a job I'm gonna get a pair of Pioneer CDJ-1000's I think (Well maybe just 1 to start with, depends if I can get them on finance lol!)
