I have a sincere question that could interest a lot of you Djs and armchair critics of hardcore music.
Podcast...
It allows iTunes to be the portal to a world of talk radio. Anyone could have a weekly "show" (daily, monthly, whenever-ly) talking about hardcore and talk about the music. It would be cool for an online hardcore music shop to promote the music and play short samples of the music as to not violate copyright laws. Why heck, most of you all here have enough to do the same, but what I was thinking about was someone doing a radio show.
Internet radio shows can be annoying to stream (slow cloggy internet) and most of them cannot be downloaded (and therefore you have to be stuck inside listening). I know there are many ways to "rip" a stream and it can be tricky, but the whole Podcast thing give you ease of use and portability.
Here is my question: does someone have the guts, the permission, or the resouces to pull a weekly hardcore show together.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COMMENS BETWEEN THE ">>>" ARE NOT MY OWN, BuT I WANTED YOUr FEEDBACK..

I'd say: just do it, but put a "For Promotional Use Only" disclaimer on it. The legalities of Podcasting are a bigger mess than internet radio was a few years back. Just do it, if you get the big rights-holders' attention, then and only then do what they ask.
As long as your podcast is a full program, and you're not just playing a single song without putting anything around it, I think the law is vague enough that you shouldn't worry too much. Don't ask permission first, apologize later.
>>> end rant FROM a blog... >>>
what do you all think about...
1 - the hardcore talk show
2 - getting a place that sells hardcore to do it. there may be more cred/permission given to a store that sells the stuff
3 - just doing a hardcore show
believe me, i have more ideas on how to use podcasting, but see what you think...
