No.. that's the thing, they only have to give 18% of the profit to ALL the artist on the CD, at the moment 100% of the money goes to the event promotor and none to the labels, artists or DJ's. so I think a 18% / 82% split is very fair for the event promotors....
it's all hardcore.

Really silver? So even if they did charge us for the 18% they had to pay the labels/artists... It would still work out at like £26 for a 12 CD pack... :) only £4 extra to get them all on CD :)

They charge that much because they want to take your money - No money goes to the artists or labels.
it's all hardcore.

I know, pressing play is a b!tch

Only thing i'm worried about is you get 8-12 tapes in a tapepack, how many cd's would you get, 2?
Each tape is about an hour, you can fit an 1h20m oh a CD, so it would still be 12 CDs lol (unless they put a 1/3 oh a mix on the end of each cd, which would be gay, or they put them in MP3 format...

Yeah but they might use paying royalties as an exhuse to bump up the price, so even if they did charge us for the exta 18% it would still only be bout £4

Not particularily bothered about the price, i would be happy to pay more for something more practical. I only own one tape player that works now and its crap, i copy most of my tapes onto cd to listen in my car anyway so Cd's would be well better.
I have some Cd's from Slammin NYE 03-04 and thy sound much better, only thing two sets on each so there shortend down sets and the F&S part is realy bad.
Why would it make people like slammin pay royalties for Cd's tho? Why is a Cd different from a Tape in a legal respect??

Slammin have already been sued once for there live packs, it think anywayz, might have been a dif promoter. But like whisper said if they was on CD they would be a real threat to the sales of fully legal CDs. Quite a few people wont buy tape packs because there tapes plus they limit how many tape packs they make (Uproar for example only made 1000 packs for collosus). I dont mind them being on tapes, I grew up with tapes... its not as if tapes sound worse just because CDs came along.

Anybody know why they dont do this anyway? Im sure tapes are cheeper but there crap. I hate it when a tape ends up playin the wrong way round or when its almost impossible to hear. Are Cd's that much more expencive?

Yeah tapes i think are really bad i think!
Mine come out all errible!
Maybe doin tapes are cheaper than cds to make

I believe Vibealite said they would only have like 2 cds in a pack with highlights from various sets, not full sets on each like they have at the moment.
