EDIT (my whole post didn't make it :s)
Well it's your decision, so do what you want off course...

But if I compare it with the situation out here in The Netherlands (Holland) you have way more options. In Holland there are practically no raves or happy-hardcore venues. You have DnB and Hardcore-parties (lot's of house, but hey that's about everywhere and this is a happyhardcore forum ). DnB isn't my thing, so that leaves hardcore. I started listening to it in '95 and still listen to it today.

The problem with hardcore in Holland is that it had and has a bad image. To be totally in the scene you had to:
- shave your hair (at least the side had to be shaven, but preferably your whole head). Even some ladies (!!) shaved their head on the side (no shit).
- wear sneakers (preferably Nike Air Max)
- wear Australian/Cavello/Oxbow shirts or traningsjackets
- like the phrase "nobody likes us, we don't care"

Well in all those years I've never shaved my head or worn Nike Air Max, Australian, Cavello or Oxbox.

Well the scene has changed now and all the happy part of it is much gone now . At every party there's an agressive atmosphere, so I don't like to go there anymore. Same for my friends. If you really want to be in the scene nowadays, you have to:
- still shave (a part of) your head.
- wear black boots with steel caps.
- wear Lonsdale.
- still like the phrase "nobody likes us, we don't care".

Lonsdale has gotten a very bad name here and if you wear it most people think you're a racist. So I don't wear it anymore. But I still like to harder parts of music, so sometimes a go to a hardstyle party: much more relaxed atmosphere and sometimes they play hardcore . I don't think I will attend much (if any) hardcoreparties. But I still love the music and when you are having a party with friends, when the time passes by (and drinks ) everybody loves happy hardcore...

So if you don't like the scene anymore, well too bad, but hey it isn't obligated so do your thing... But if you liked hardcore for years, you must still like it now I guess...

Anyway good luck and just B...
(different/mass/exception, whaveter makes you happy as long as you don't harm any people (incl. yourself))

Thats a real shame the scene in holland has turned that way, when i went a few years ago was a very good party atmosphere could see parts of the rascist thing but it definitely didnt dominate the scene.

I'm away to dance valley in a couple weeks time thanks to free ticket from my mate in stoke, no gabber there but 60,000 people ravin for 3 days to all the best in trance/hard dance etc.

Cant wait

Venga familia!!!

Iv missed the last 5-6 raves in adelaide
I feel like im missing from the scene, but I am happy missing the rave due to the same dj's at every one and the same boring freeform and boring angry dj paul gabber.

same here, although I've recently found out that there is an alternative hardcore scene here (and in holland) where the gabberstandards don't apply (usually like breakcoreparties).
I myself still wear my bomber, shave my head and wear air max' but I've given up on lonsdale and the likes, too much problems with em.
going for a more punk-look now :p

oh eah, and I hate hardstyle.

and another thing, in general terms of hardcore: oldskool is the best!

to be honest the 'Scene' doesnt really do it for me either bro

Seeing kids and adults all PLURED UP with their eyes rolling in the back of their head crouched near a speaker just gets really irritatating after awhile. I go to see a certain DJ now when i go to raves/events.

The music will be apart of my life..and you said it yourself, your goin back to tha OldSkool, so maybe youll be around lurkin'

anyways take it ez man.

I really dont get this "scene" thing, did you just wakeup this morning and think, damn Hardcore doesnt sound the same as yesterday, ill go listen something else? ;) I mean i understand fading away to other styles of music, but just quit all cause theres some things you dont like? I dont like everything Hardcore has to offer, i just take the pieces i like. I have my own scene, where i'm the elitistic dictator that desides what is good and what is not. Sure, my scene only has one person innit, but the music sure sounds good :)

If you dont like Hardcore, then of course you should go in the way that feels best for you. But Hardcore isnt something, where you have to be with it 100% or not at all. You can just take what you like. If you dont like the events, then dont go to them. I dont go either, cause its not "my thing".

.

I don't make many posts, i just put the odd mix on hh.com but this interested me....

I agree with ecstatic..etc although I think what he says is a little harsh. Happy hardcore is just a genre of music. I love hardcore and I don't care what happens to the 'scene'. It's all about the music. What is the 'scene' anyway? Isn't it what you make it?

Good luck with whatever you end up doing in the future. Oh, and a tip. I totally agree with everything you said, except the whole hardcore in its current state. Check out Luna C, Panacea, Belladonnakillz and whole load of other people if you think the scene is too Hixxified!
