How do you adjust the pitch? My ipod has no function to do this.... is it done internally in the mixer? in which case the ipods are just acting as hard drives right? why not then just build the hard drive into the unit meaning you don't have to fork out for a 2nd ipod?

Or having to buy two ipods if you don't have one at all. Might be easier just to use some mp3 mixing software like Mixvibes Pro.

this looks cool but isnt it just a cdj with more memory and 4 times the price?
and on the subject of maing piracy easier... i garantee more people will use CDJ's than this ipod thing.. start bitching at them

well...this would never be high enough quality for club use
and it'll never be used in a club/rave for obvious reasons anyways
so nobody would ever play out using mp3s anyways (unless they're on cdjs...)
so basically this isn't going to encourage piracy for anybody playing out
only for home users...and if someone's willing to spend that much (2 ipods...) to play mp3s at home and not be able to play them out they likely already had cdjs or soemthing anyways

Actually, isn't there this craze in some of the bars in london where people come along with 2 ipods and plug them in and just jam away..... never heard/seen it but I've heard ithappens, like an open mic kind of thing

well...any respectable promoter wouldn't book a dj to play on ipods
"It only encourages home use piracy. Its basically for bratty hiphop wigger kids who live in Laguna Beach."
hip hop kids wanna scratch and that's it
I doubt this allows that
I don't even see a market for this...how many home pirate djs are there that would want to play on ipods when any actual dj would most likely own cdjs anyways... if I did download music I'd rather keep using a high quality mixer and two CDJ200s or something anyways!
whatever.

it's a great idea, but you have to realize something like this isn't supposed to be marketed to actual djs. this is more for people who listen more to other sorts of music and don't want to be dance djs.
more along the lines of a geek being able to dj.
I talked to one of the r&d guys this weekend at namm about this actually =P there is no pitch control, basically all you can do is cue the next song. basically allows you play like a 70s disco dj.
and depending on the quality of the mp3 or whatever it was recording as, you could use this through a high-end speaker system.

regarding hte quality, iPods play wavs anyway, so if its quality you want then you just play wavs
