I mean at Global Gathering of course.
Hixxy rocked the place! It was full. Bodyheat from the ravers bouncing so hard all set, was enough to pump the tent temperature up a good 30 degrees above anything else I witnessed all day! It was sweltering. But that didn't stop what looked like a good 5,000 people. Whatever the capacity of the Polys tent...
The best bit, well I thought I never say these words: it was at the end! The place emptied. I've never seen like such an exodus from an arena before. It was like the night has just finished. That's it. Over. Well I was knackered that was for sure.
There's no way they can't have a dedicated hardcore arena now! Hixxy pulled out the stops. MC Storm was commanding his ravers in top form. And the crowd were deafening!
Hard house, eat your heart out! ;) (felt a bit sorry for K90, but apparently he played a good set)
Anyway, I rushed a few pics at the end, as I thought I'd better capture some of it.
During Hixxy:

Some other time during Hixxy! I was about 50 feet from the decks here:

Then the exodus:

I was one of the first to leave too. People were pouring out for ages. Desperate to cool down some of em too I bet!

saw the flyers for global gathering. massive line up. looked pretty wickid.
wish there was an event like that here in new york. there's sometimes these raves that start at 10 am with free food and drinks on a wide open lawn with local dj's spinnin the records but nothing as big as this.
nice that you got some pictures. heard some people didn't want to drag along a camera with them which i think is a bit foolish. why wouldn't you want to capture one of the best nights ever??

K90 pisses all over Hixxy & Storm imo.
Storm is THE shittest MC around.

Umm, okay... a deep opinion.
So did you read that the post was actually about the public reaction? Kinda proven above? Should I have said: Discuss! ?

haha. I see, typical USH attitude, huh?
I wasn't commenting on Hixxy's tune selection. I mean it was good - typical classic UK hardcore. It's great but not completely my bag (hey, it's fast enough to bounce to and that's all that matters). But this was about the crowd reaction and how filled the place was compared to the other hard house and hard trance sets in the same tent.
The point being that hardcore just keeps gaining in popularity all the time. It hasn't peaked yet...
