To celebrate the reaching of posts that is the same as my birth year - 1984 I would like to say this.

What hardcore needs is more exposure. Almost anyone that I play hardcore loves it, they ask where that can get it from and I say from this obscure website that only sells tracks on 12".

Yes, CD compilations are good. Even better when they dont have the same tracks from the same labels. It helps get hardcore out to the masses, but to the casual listener (like my friends who listen to punk rock) they have no clue.

In order to survive, hardcore needs a unity like no other. If the big guns stopped promoting stuff from their own labels and genuinely took the initiative to support and encourage talent, then the growth would be unfathomable. If more CD's where out there, flooding the market, where hardcore was positively everywhere, we would see mass interest.

Yes, I know it costs money. I know it costs a lot of money. But why does that have to be the issue? Why not support the scene regardless of cost? Why does it always have to be about the money you get back?

What happened to the love of the music?

Anyway thats off-topic, and the ramblings of a man with an empty stomach.

Hey people i set them straight with a letter this week which made it in the magazine. It explainins to them how I put the review in the happyhardcore.com forums with the magazines email address. So they now know the situation and why they got the abusive emails. It's all pretty funny how they printed the letters in the magazine. And at the end of the day any exposure is good for hardcore, it lets people out there know hardcore is still alive and kicking. Also managed to sneak the website address in too. So as i said they now know whats goin on.

I'm raw to the floor cause i love my hardcore.
You know the score and what i'm waiting for. Yeah bro it's banging hardcore!!

Erm. I disagree. The "exposure" that hardcore got in the first place was pretty crap. Thats not good. It shows off to other people that while we are passionate, we are not coherent.

An easier way of showing that hardcore is alive and kicking is by pointing out the amount of new material coming out, the new CD's, the attendence at raves on the increase and that sort of jib.

Thanks to this letter you've sent them, hardcore and its supporters are going to look like little kids having a cry.

Anyway, thats my take. I'll keep on listening to my Scott Brown.
