Basically we have been running small local parties in the area and have gathered a pretty good local following, we have been looking to try and reach out to further a field for a while now but we don't want to mess up so we would like to no what it is everyone looks for at a party? Does there have to be big headline dj's? If so how many? Does it have to be local? Big? Or do you prefer a small party? Etc etc etc I’m sure you get the idea.

I love small parties where you feel almost privileged to be there. one well-known DJ is enough IMO as long as you've got some good talent to back it up with. The other thing with small parties is its a lot more 'intimate' so everyone feels a lot closer to the DJ, always a good thing. Good lighting is essential, not neccessarily lasers etc. but a good show to go with the music. Laying on cheap transport is always a good idea to get more people interested. Can't really think of anything else!

I like small parties with a loyal crowd, more of a family feeling. I think one 'big name' is enough a week. I think there's a feeling at the moment that there's too many big arena parties and perhaps you should avoid them.

Where do you put on your nights mate?

Agree with you lads big raves are quality for big nights now and again, but week by week can't beat a nice friendly crowd with good up n comin talent gettin a chance to prove themselfs.

All the big names are producers it's sometimes nice to book people for simply being great dj's.

Venga familia!!!

Are parties are in the Oxford/Bucks borderline, Aylesbury, Wycombe, Oxford kinda area at the moment.

I don't know about transport at this point in time as it would be very costly for us and we want to keep down entrance costs but I guess it would be possible if expanding works for us.

It's good to hear people are more into smaller partys as we would really like the line up to consist mainly of local dj's or other lesser known dj's trying to get heard. If this is the case what would make you travel a reasonable distance to it though? Maybe reviews on sites and magazines or something like that?

It's not even that far from me bulby mate to be honest, i'm livin in hemel at minute soon to be watford. I dont drive myself but will try see how else i can get over sometime.

Pretty much all my mates i go out ravin with are from down essex but normally up for tryin somethin different, and no a couple folks from this area might be interested.

Good stuff gettin out creatin parties for your local scene, is a lot of effort but must be rewardin when it comes off. Keep it up mate.

Venga familia!!!

Bit far from me mate in Leeds lol. I think getting a good reputation as being a good party is essential. get reviews on sites and in mags, Raving Eys etc... A lot of sites allow you to submit your own reviews, so big yourself up! Get some mental photos as well, people always like something to look at.

Once you've got the rep then I think people will travel a fair way for it. Maybe try getting more 'specialist' DJ's in, as well as your resies, Luna C springs to mind as being someone I think many would travel to see.

Baldo - would be great if you could make it down were hoping to do one in Oxford at some point soon and maybe make it a regular venue if all goes well so that may be a bit more accessible for people public transport wise. It is allot of effort that goes into putting on a party but it is also allot of fun and as you say it is very rewarding I would definitely recommend it to anyone else who is suffering a lack of hardcore parties in there local area, you may be surprised how many people there are that like hardcore where you live we certainly were!

DiamondDog - Shame its too far for ya cheers for the advice maybe a website or something would be a good idea. The specialist dj idea is definitely a good one will be worth looking into.

decent sized venue, atleast one fairly big headliner, an appropriate sound system for the venue, and lots of beer =P

make sure the flow of music the djs play doesn't clash too badly. ie don't put a trance dj on after a hardcore dj.

Me and my friends like a good setup, a decent sized arena, good atmosphere & of course good music. The one thing all the ravers i know hate is if the rave gets noise complaints and the music has to be turned down. Personally what i like is a good DJ who gets into the music as much as the people who are dancing to it. As B.C said smaller parties give you that feeling as if you are closer to the DJ! Good Luck with it all!

Cheers for the feedback everyone I think we have a pretty good idea where we have to go from here:

A spacious venue that will be accessible and easy enough to find,

1 or 2 big mainstream dj's as well as a more specialist one, some breakbeat or gabba maybe? All our reg's are fully capable dj's believe me ;)

The "flow" of the evening is always deliberate we start off happy and cheesy and get harder and/or more energetic throughout the night so we shouldn't have a problem there,

We have good sound and lighting equipment already especially considering our current size,

Our nights have always had a good atmosphere and we will continue to put 100% effort into keeping it this way as we know what a downer it is on a night if there is trouble, anyone looking to cause trouble will be thrown out immediately we do not tolerate it at all.

I think that’s us just about covered now will be sure to post our first venture into a bigger capacity venue in the events section and hope to see some faces from HH.com there (maybe I’ll sort out a special discount ;)) If anyone can think of anything else or just wanted to post there views feel free the more feedback we can get the better.
