I think there should be an up to date sounding version. I know it's a classic and is fine how it is etc etc but I'd love to hear a new version churned out by Scotty Broon.
The 2001 rmx is good but the percussion sounds weak next to tracks of today.

Yeah it would be nice but to be honest im fed up of the crap half arse rmx's that have been coming out and i think they need to be putting there efforts into new fresher material.

scott brown's remixes of his own tracks aren't that special at all. He really doesn't change much, some sound effects here a few notes changed there and presto a new track. Structurly speaking it is pretty much the same track.

Totaly agree, I find their's nothing worse than picking up a cd and looking at the back to find every track is a remix, it's so dull.
Your hardly going to be known as a revolutionary producer if all you do is half assed remix's of old tracks.

it's not a bad idea at all. i think the 2001 remix, in the middle of a set, would lower the energy that u would have worked for an hour to build. it's good yeah but against today's standards... it needs beefing up!
i'll just have to get it and chuck some more perc etc over it and press it for my self then if no1 else agress it needs doing.
aaaah the wonders of cd-r... just needs some cdj's now lol.
the power of love is a timeless classic that'll never wear thin... keeping a true masterpiece up with the times can only have upsides not downsides, surely?!

I say leave it in peace. Sure as producers we have new tools and sounds available to us, but surely we could use those for new tunes rather than constantly remaking old ones?
Surely there are more tunes out there!
Besides, as a classic tune it will stand the test of time on that merit alone. Its like an old (historic) building. Just because the architecture isn't modern, or the colour scheme is out dated, you don't go changing things to keep it up with the times. You might give it a coat of paint (read: repress it, or digitally remaster it) but other than that, its a thing of beauty in its own right. Leave it be.

i dont see the problem with it, if it brings some fresh ideas to the track.
one of two things will happen:
1)it will be a good remix which we will love and enjoy
2)it will be a shit remix which we will not like and criticise. In turn it will not damage the original's aura if anything making it stronger
