I have to say I find production originality has been dropping since 2002-2003 on the bigger labels but the smaller labels are putting out some GREAT stuff so it's all good
for the bigger labels...to me the 2002-2003 stuff is much better but to each our own :P
I'm really not into the whole making hardcore "pop" like breeze & styles are doing...I really found clubland xtreme hardcore boring
their older tracks like "home", "angel", "you're shining" and such were far superior in my eyes...I listened to bonkers 14 and not too many tracks stood out as stuff I even wanted to buy
and I spend about 200$ on vinyl every week...
listen to bonkers 9/X and then listen to clubland...makes me wonder how hardcore got so unoriginal
good thing there are still the smaller labels that are putting out the great stuff

For me this is the only style that's sounding original at the moment.

Agreed, for my money their is only 3 "big labels" that sound original, NG/BB, EP & Quosh. Although EP has a very similar sound to RB, they prove time and again that you can use the softer style but make original sounding tracks.
I'm fed up with EVO, so much so that I don't even bother to listen to most of the new tracks on the label.

I agree, its all so formulated, needs different sounds from track to track.

I dont see how they could have lost the originality they had in their tunes though, its a shame. It will be good if they realise this and keep making Nu-skool style tracks but make each and every track unique in its own way.

The reason I got into hardcore all those years ago was the originality of it all. Happy hardcore back in the day sounded completely different to all other musical styles - there was nothing around like it, unlike today where there is - only its about 30bpm slower.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not slamming hardcore as a whole just a few of the big names that seem to chuck out seemingly identical tunes and album mixes week in week out.
Sure, "happy" hardcore is a thing of the past but I still crave variety! Bring on Hardcore Reunited and Wow 10! I'm not going to bother with any of the future Bonkers albums because we all pretty much know how they're going to sound. To the likes of Resist hardcore is a cash cow, so they'll milk it, and if it aint broken (in their view) then why fix it?
I basically give up on a handful of the big names of today. I'm just going to get behind and support the other artists who truly ****ing deserve to be the big names of tomorrow - those that don't release one track, tweak a couple of parts of it and then re-release it as a new tune.

I agree with u on that:
1995 hardcore tunes had there own unique element with a bit of a twist!
Now in 2005 like u say they all sound the sound almost like in each tune u know wots comin next!
Probably get slated now for sayin that but thats just my opinion!
