I found an old rave tape (the 1st one i ever heard actually) in my room the other day and thought i'd have a listen. It's from 1998 with a DJ called Nicky Modlin and its 1 of the best sets i've ever heard.... amazing mixing & scratching.
So i was wondering if any1 knows anything about the DJ cos i've not heard anything else from him so.... is he still around?

Yeah, i remember Nicky Modlin vaguely - think he had stuff released on evo and various labels a while back.
Don't know of anything more recent though.

I used to speak to him at his uncles gym just outside of glasgow is a bit eccentric but a dam gd happy hardcore/bouncy techno dj. He used to play at the archaos under 18's nights in glasgow and rocked the place with his scratching.
Dont no him well to be honest last time i spoke to him was mibbe 2 years ago and he was dj'ing garage or somethin like that dont think he does hardcore anymore, any chance you could copy me the tape dave mate cos sure would bring back a lotta gd memories to my early rave days

Aye, his scratching is good like.
Yeh i'll copy it for you, but bare in mind the 1 i've got is a bad copy so the 1 i do for you will be even worse 
Just pm me your address and i'll send it off when its done... you might be able to help with some tune id's as well cos i want to know a few of the tunes he plays
