If you buy a vinyl and rip it to your PC then sell the vinyl. technically you shouldnt do it but as long as its just 1 or 2 then artists wont mind. if you buy records simply to rip them then sell them on again then nobody will like that. Scott Brown himself has said he wouldnt mind if someone got one of his records and played it a bit, ripped it and sold it on as long as they wernt just buying it to rip.

as for the online mixes question, i think there great. just listening to happyhardcore.com and hardcoreunited.co.uk ive not been able to resist buying over 200 vinyls since january and my wants list is still huge.

a producer told me that if you do a mix and put it online for free download then its legal but some producers might not be happy with it. if you sell your mix then you have to pay the producers or it is illegal.

now onto filesharing. personally i dont like it. its too tempting to download a lot of tracks especially if you ant find them anywhere or are running a little low on cash. i decided to delete absolutely everything i had downloaded and block all p2p programs on my network. i see what your saying tho, if you have paid for the origional then surely you should be able to download the track. well, why would you want to? if its just to save you ripping it then it would take longer. ripping takes as long as the track, downloading can take anything from 1 min to weeks. and if you stick with vinyls and dont download anything then theres less chance of viruses. vinyls dont seem to be able to spread them so well :P

replacements. ok, someone said about getting replacement media for the tracks they own. well, its your responsibility for keeping the media safe. if you manage to smash a vinyl then something is wrong. if you scratch a CD then how? did you leave it out the case? its not the music industries fault if you break something. you wouldnt expect PC world to replace your PC if you hit it with a hammer (yes tempting i know :P)

theres a new toy i read about in mixmag that can fix any cd no matter how scratched it is.

btw on my last post i mean "which if you look at it that way, file sharing isnt worst than selling on ebay." me and my fooking typing too fast

in my honest opinion i dont think people using p2p is too harmful to the hardcore scene because its so small. as i said earlier, if someone isnt going to buy a vinyl or mp3, then they arent. personally i think mp3's are over priced. but its garanteed that those people are still going to raves

Of course it is, thats the reason it is so harmful. A small scene needs whatever money it can. Downloading a shared file is theft, sharing it is aiding theft. It harms the artist, label and the scene as a whole.

I dont have a credit card, there for I cant download the tracks I want that are exclusive to download sites, and im not a dj, so it would be pointless begging for tracks
There for im stuck with low level samples and mixed versions in online mixes?
would it be nice if i download the tracks illegally? I think it would
Morally I dont think so thu, so I dont

hi, im back again after a hell of a long time. anyways. if someone cant afford a track then obviously they cant buy it and it doesnt matter if they download it or not, the music industry will not be affected 1 bit. the trouble is that a lot of people will download because its free, even if they can afford it.

now then, it might not affect the music industry but if you cant afford it then you cant have it. i dont mean to be nasty but thats the way it is. if you cant afford a PC then nobody will give you one for free. most people who make tracks do it as their main job, they rely on record sales etc. if you owned a shop you wouldnt like people having free things just cos they cant afford it. you would go out of business

I'd rather buy my hardcore from the shops but there is some hardcore mixes which can only be downloaded from some sites. Usally I would download something if it is old or rare, not if it is just comming out
