Hey am knew to the forum. :-) What do you guys think of woods parties? Does anyone go to them or do you prefer the legalized events now?

I go from time to time but I prefer legal parties and here is why:

A. It’s very rare to hear hardcore at a free party.
B. I tend to get plastered in mud and so does my car.
C. I always damage my heat shield and exhaust driving down the dodgy tracks.
D. Quite a few twats have been turning up over the last year or so.
E. I end up getting home at about 5 - 6pm and then can't get up for work.

I do enjoy a good free party though its good that you can generally get on the decks if you bring some vinyl (no cheese though usually!) and the regulars are all friendly even if some of the kevs that seem to be turning up aren't.

I agree with you about the undesirables turning up, but most that i have been to there is majoritavely more stomping hardcore than anything else.
As for legal events... Slammin? Uproar? HH? u been to them?

Yeah they play gabba if thats what you mean but all the ones I go to are mainly techno, acid techno, hard trance/style, hard house, psy trance, dnb and nu-skool breaks you do hear the odd freeform or oldskool hardcore set from time to time though. Been to all the big events the three listed as well as all the others raindance, united dance etc etc and some smaller events like experimental. I also put on events with my mates small local parties and a couple of "woods" parties .

Can't beat a bit of free partying, though do agree that a bit more hardcore wouldn't go amiss. Haven't seen any trouble at the ones I've been to either, whereas I have at large events.

Well i have been to most big and small legal events but woods parties just have such a different feel to them. More personal i think. Plus there normally about 20 mins from me so its handy. I did have one good experience once of some local police turning up PURELY to check that people driving back were in a fit state (police actually serving a useful purpose!!) . The only bad experience i ever had was some twat blew a stolen car up at 530 and police slash fire arrived.
