Hi all

Just back from my summer holiday to Ibiza.

After being told by sev people on this site that there is no hardcore in Ibiza I got a flyer for Eden in San An for the first night which was holding a helter skelter night and included Hixxy, Sy and Dougal amongst others on the flyer.

So it was decided that we would go there rather than Manumission. Vibes opened the night with a banging old skool hardcore set. After that it was Altern 8 and Slipmatt - so Hixxy, Sy and Dougal didn't show and it was really an old skool night but it was still a brilliant night.

The highlight though was during the night Emerson Allen and Lipmaster Mark (ie the Ratpack) walked in halfway through the night. They weren't playing - they were just having a night out. After taking pics with my other half and chatting to them for a few mins we got on with the night and didn't think anymore of it.

The next day we ventured down to the pool of our apartments and opposite us was sat a bloke and a bird - I said to Trev (my other alf) that looks like Lipmaster Mark but he just laughed me off until Emerson Allen walked up to the pool! They were staying in our apartments one of eithe side of us!!!!!

We again had a chat and found they were playing that night in a club in the West End so had another old skool night mostly spent in the company of Emerson and Lipmaster :-)

We had a brill holiday and are looking forward to going again next year (maybe Hixxy will turn up then )

Kat

Was that Play 2 in the west end? I've seen Ratpack there as well as Slipmatt in the last 4 years, and for free as well!

How was Helter Skelter? When I've been it's been a bit quiet but the music's always been spot on. Old skool, can't beat it lol.

I've just got back from Ibiza - The eden flyer is misleading because it lists loads of big hardcore dj's but my mate who's been out there all season said only sy & slipmatt and all the oldschool acts have been on. Hixxy or dougal etc haven't been there once.

It was Play2 - good place - busy and free to get in :-)

Helter Skelter was busier than when I went last year but not as busy as the next night which was the Slinky night with Dave Pearce.

Overall the island didn't seem as busy as usual. I am wondering if it is loosing its appeal.

Kat

Edit - Actually thinking about Dance Valley next year for a change - it looks quite appealing and a bit more mature than Ibiza.

Well dance music as a whole is in a bit of a dip at the moment, hence why manumission are doing rock nights, its the new 'in' thing. Ibiza just ain't cool anymore lol.

Nice one. I met Dougal in Eden this July when he and Slipmatt were playing at Helter Skelter. The Ratpack were there as well.

The music itself was more mid to late 90s dance but Dougal promised he'd play some hardcore at the end of the night and low and behold he did! It really did make my holiday in Ibiza this year. I bumped into him x2 more times as well out there and he was cool.
