With ‘Sweet Release’ and ‘In Your Eyes’ finding favour with Radio 1’s Kutski, Raverbaby’s Hixxy and the legendary DJ Dougal, Executive Records goes from strength to strength cementing its position as Australia’s premier hardcore outlet.
Following the vocal delights of that last 12”, Executive now hits out with ‘Freedom’, a more energised but equally euphoric outing for their sixth release. It's arguably their largest effort yet; thanks, in no small part, to the appearance of Infexious Audio hotshots Resist and Impact.
It’s to the Resist and Impact remix that we first turn then. Following the runaway success of their Infexious Audio project, Resist & Impact have become firm favourites in the boxes of heavyweights such as Hixxy, Breeze and Styles, even being licensed to the global selling Clubland Extreme albums. And if there is any justice in raveworld, this majestic ‘Freedom’ remix will enjoy similar success.
Taking the main elements of the original and pumping them with a euphoric yet tough n’ bouncy up trance feel, the Resist & Impact ‘Freedom’ remix cuts like a cross between the classic Evolution sound of the late nineties and today’s modern Raverbaby influenced trance vibe, yet still soars with its own originality. Seriously euphoric and hinging on a sailing bleeped-out breakdown, it’s destined to do the damage on the floors and has already been signed to Kevin Energy’s recent Hardcore Heaven album. More uplifting than Sunday dinner with Jesus.
On the flip we encounter the euphoric Haze 05 rework. Currently hitting a seriously productive spate in the studio, Haze and Gemini have plenty of choice dancefloor detonators waiting to blow on both Executive and the exciting Executive Digital project and the ‘Freedom’ lead riff is a devastatingly explosive statement of what’s in store from the boys. Tougher and more direct than the Infexious remix, Haze’s ‘Freedom’ is another Executive anthem in the making and with its catchy vocal hook and infectious riff work it has already found favour with Kevin Energy, Sharkey and Gammer… rockin!
