I thought trancecore was the name for when trance producers started producing hardcore speed trance in 1997/98 ish, labels like EDM, Spaceflower etc using trancey sounds but at hardcore speed hence 'trance-core'

Trancecore is the name for the style of music which evolved into what we now call freeform, trancecore isn't made anymore.

As DMS said, alot of people get confused because people mention the 'trancey' style of hardcore thats used alot lately and think that this type of hardcore is trancecore, don't worry it's a common misconception. ;)

well i honestly thought trancecore type stuff was more of a progressive and "nrg" type feel to it. Well HAPPY HARDCORE is not with us any more but ranged from i dunno like 150-180? piano riffs and vocals and alot of other things but yeah. I dunno someone always have different opinions.<3

i dont acctually pay much attention to "trancecore" "freeform" "happyhardcore" ect ect
its all hardcore. and i just go by individual songs, i listen to what i feel like at the time, i dont think to myself, i'll put some freeform on or some happy hardcore. i just think i want to listen to "insight - only your love" so i put it on and listen away!

So the freeform/trancecore/trancore/trancehardcore/hardtrancecore/whatevercore confusion continues - it's nice to know that some things never change, and that the hardcore set can be just as pedantic as the rest of the electronic music world.
