Thanks for a mixed response
I don't mind the high energy trance, I just feel the beats and bass in new hardcore let's it down too much, Sy and Seduction's Teh Devel on HCN2 would be great but please don't use those beats and bass lines, they make it sound too much like club music
In two years time do you really think hardcore will be as strong if it sounds like it does now? maybe not so much, how about mixing new skool melodys (like trance) with the old skool beats (like breaks and 4/4 kickdrum) and see if that sounds hardcore?
these days the impression I get from the big proucers is making hardcore advanced and 'with the times' and forggetiing there was little wrong with it back in the old skool when it was about the fun and music, not 'lets make hardcore look like it's evoulved quiker than any other type of music ect

thing was, back then happyhardcore used gabba kickdrums, now they use club kickdrums and there's no 8bit quilality in the tracks at all and where the F has the 'fun' 'circus' crazy bloody melodies gone... it's age isn't it!!! - i've answered it for you!!!

What period are we on about beacause it was mostly breaks until 96-97ish. Some tunes had a hard 4/4 kick dutch style but most tracks were breaks led.
I rememer Luna-c saying he had no interest in producing old skool(hardcore breaks)because the music he wanted to make over the years had changed.
If any type of musc stayed the same for nearly ten years then most people would loose interest. The music has developed with what the producers have wanted to make.
*For example*
Panacea has said that he could make make the same music he made earlier in his life as different things have happend in his life to shape the music he makes.

well for me, as an artist, I just want to make music the way I want to.
Regardless of genres, and time period. I love music. I want to make music that I love. Is that too much?

I think Clarke101 hit the nail on the head! There is still all sorts of hardcore being made. You've just got to dig around. OK, so Raverbaby makes trancey hardcore, Evolution slightly harder trancey, Nu Energy is freeform etc etc, but check out some of the "smaller" labels (using the smaller term loosely). If you like happy, check out Ruffage - Been on a Star, if you like mad "funcore" check out the Total Johnny tracks on KFA by Luna C (not really old style, but still got the old skool fun element to it in my book, especially Total Help), theres loads more, you've just got to look.
Of course if all else fails learn to produce yourself and put your money where your mouth is!
Ryg0r: guff = fart
I wonder if theres any connection between Bee farting and Tokyo having 3 earthquakes in one week

I think hardcore at the moment is great, there are a load of different styles and something from everyone.

Fully agree Silver, it's just that imo in the main it's the Raverbaby trancey stuff that's being pushed the hardest to the consumer en masse.
If you're a dj, then it's nice and easy to buy any style of hardcore that you like on vinyl/cd
But when it comes to compilation albums, I don't think there are many which push the non-trancey side of hardcore.
Hardcore is now more diverse than ever, but a lot of casual listeners probably don't realise that!
Sure, you CAN find other styles of hardcore out there on albums, but it's a mission to do as they are in a minority.
