whats the score...
i try to open my account and passwords changed....
i open my email and i have mail from ebay about items i bid on...then i get another nail from ebay saying disregard the mail about items you bid on and that i need to change my password...
can it be hacked?

No, but the emails can be spoofed.
That is to say, people can contruct emails that look/feel exactly like ebay emails. And if click on the links (which go off to some random IP address) you end up giving the details to the wrong people.
egh, something like that.

they advise you now to only look at your stuff through the messages on your account as they can't be spoofed. it happened to my dad a while ago, get in touch with ebay and they'll sort it out zippy

Ya, that happened to me! I got a random email from ebay saying we need to verfiy your account, so i go ahead and evter EVERYTHING IN!. and im about to hit the Continue button when I realize this page is not encrypted. And all ebay ones are (ones of importance) so yay for firefox, saved my grief.

usually they say you have bid on and supposedly link you to it but it is infact a completely different site that knicks all your information yaddam

The *spoof*E-bay emails do look quite realistic. Which i guess what catchs most people out
Never give out your log in details to anybody.
