Finally someone saying what was needed to say!
Go Audio Ecstacy!
To everyone:
If you don't like what is being produced today, don't listen to it. Or make your own music (as AE said).
*lifts my hat for Audio Ecstacy*

true hixxy was better back then there's no doubt!
thing is though, how long will this boring sound last? the one where, once you are in the main part, you can only hear 3 things, a house kickdrum, offstab bassline, and the same virusC synth used for the last 4 years doing the apergio shit. you can't even hear the openhighhats cause the mixing they've worked too hard on and the results come out shit.
back in the day when it was real hardcore (when the bassdrums made you rattle) they were doing different stuff and even better - it had a piss about in yer bedroom later-studio feel to it.

there are no alternatives to the softcore because it's grown too big for its boots, nothing can stop it, the less fans of softcore there are then the more hardcore will be produced. but some how, i can't see breezeandstyles making a hardcore tune for at least 10 years!

This is pissing me off...
Lots of members throwing bad comments on the producers! ARRGH
Think yourself in their shoes, you make lots of effort to make music, and then people throw shit at you because you've moved on from the old stuff..
Fine way to encourage the artists to do good music...
I myself can't stand the older stuff, it just sounds too boring in my ears (and it sounds too old, somehow qualityvise). So I am a follower of the new stuff that is being produced. And accept it, they are not producing older stuff, because majority likes the newer stuff.
So please stop giving negative comments on the Hardcore producers, because who would want to produce to a little scene where there are people thinking negative of the music they produce.
You're Scaring them away!
And with no producers: No scene!
=You're killing the scene
And no alternatives to softcore?
you mean Upfront Hardcore? if you don't like it, try Freeform or gabba or something else, just don't keep on being so negative.
*rant over*

Oh boy... here we go again...
I didn't say I hate old-school, I just said I can't stand it. There's a difference.
Can't you notice the difference in their music? I can, the newer, the more fill in their music (and better feeling in them, as in Slide Away).
And if you don't like Breeze & Styles, as said many times before: Don't listen to them. There are plenty of other producers. Ever heard Brisk's recent stuff? true bangers. What about Vagabond? Also banging stuff. And Scott Brown? not to forget Sharkey, AMS, Gammer,Sy & Unknown and the list goes on...

Hmmmmm, what? I like trance... Nothing wrong with that, good to calm down with.
You propably didn't know, but I do also dig gabber (alot), and I even train to DJ Harder stuff (yes, gabber). With progress.
I listen to lots of EDM music, it is just up to what kind of mood I'm in...
And if I want a break from EDM, I'll listen (yes this is true) to Panjabi/hindi music. If that doesn't help, I'm also into heavy music and if that doesn't help either I'm also into funk music (sometimes soul music, go james brown!).
Reggae is also good to listen to =)
*edit*
To answer 95_was_the_time's question: Yes

Easy wee ones. Best not to cry.
You're obviously missing the point. If Breeze & Styles want to make fast-paced trance, then more power to them. If you don't consider it "hardcore" that's fine. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. There are plenty of other artists and labels out there that will accommodate your taste. If you don't feel like sending your music off to labels, then put it out yourself. CLSM have done this to great success.
B&S are not the ones killing the scene. It's people who piss and moan about the old days rather than doing something to make a difference. Crying is NOT going to make any artist change the direction of their style. It will only make them and other people think you're a sad little fcuker with too much time on your hands.
If you hate new hardcore so much, then why are you in our scene?

For those of you insistent on bemoaning the current state of hardcore, go to this link. And please don't come back, because you are obviously out of touch with the present.
http://www.backtotheoldskool.co.uk/forum *EDIT* ^^^blatant sarcasm. They will chew you up as much as I have. But seriously. Behave yourselves or don't come back. And 95_was_the_time: The soft Raverbaby sound is NOT the only style being produced. A lot of freeform has very hard kicks. There's Gabber. There's a lot of Breakbeat stuff at the moment. Labels like Rave n Beats put out cheesey tunes reminiscent of 1995. Find the style you like and move on, mate. It's not that hard. And UKr4ver: I've not failed at all. I'm contributing to the scene and pushing my own sound forward. That's a lot more than you can say. If you're still moaning, then it's an issue you need to sort out before you play with the other children.
