This is not about BPM or anything with the sound of hardcore, it's about the imature pedophile look hardcore has.
Sorry, but I think that you are the dense one. When you make your hardcore compilation, put something really edgy and cool as the cover. I don't really care what the cover looks like, as long as it isn't the Hardcore Nation 2 cover. That one blows.
Oh, and for future reference, "immature" is spelled with two "m"s not one.

You've not got a clue, it's hardcore. Only people who have not got a clue call todays stuff Happy Hardcore, it's Hardcore simple as. Happy Hardcore is a completely different sound.

Oh yeh. The other point that I forgot to make.
Most of the population of planet Earth have no idea what Hardcore is.
Most of the people on this site are happy, or so it seems from what they say, to keep it that way....... Underground.
So, if the artwork of the biggest selling Hardcore CD looks cartoony and childish, that must be a good thing,
as it keeps the great unwashed public away and Hardcore remains....... Underground.
This you might think is ideal.
However, if you want to use your choice of music as a 'badge' to tell the world what a cool, take-no-shit kind of dude you really are,
then the "cartoony childish shit" image must, frustratingly, make that very difficult.

I for one do not mind the cartoony aspect of the whole thing, but then again I'm not a fashion nazi about it either. The problem is, is that a minority of the people want to remove the rave aspect from the rave and alienate the ravers from a scene that they in fact created. I for one enjoy seeing the creativity put in to flyers, album covers and pictures made for most genre of music as in the rave world here, most of it's cartoony.
I will give you an honest opinion on how I feel about it with no sense of shame of where I come from, because there are some members on here that think I preach "americanism" but I don't understand why some of the British members on this forum praise some of the music but despise the culture? What I like about rave is that there are no social boundarys and you can be as foolish as you want, and I thought the cartoony aspect of it was to reflect that.
I am proud to say that I am a Happy Hardcore Dj, and very few of my records in my collection were pressed before 2003, go figure that one out elitests, so yes, there is still very much happy hardcore being made. And the labels may not reflect cartoon, but the music is still cheezy as fcuk.
my two cents

happy hardcore should remain colourful.
k, I don't really like the cartoonish stuff like the bonkers covers but I love the colourful stuff like on HTID, the old happyrave series and H2BH.
All other forms of hardcore have their own sort of look (think gabber, more dark and industrial, and speedcore, at some points has sick artwork or very simple but straightforward).
so, no to cartoons, yes to non-clashing clolourful art

All i know is that my friends and I could make a better album cover for the next bonkers. When i saw the art work for 15 my heart stopped. i don't understand why they dont do something really really cool for it? They have the resources to make an amazing album cover and they go and do that????? WHY?!?

I think that it is up to the producer of the album ....
If I want gummy bears on my record .... I am going to have gummy bears on my album..... if you want the mature look ... make a record/ cd and stop telling other people what to do !

This only just occured to me, but if hardcore wants to loose the 'happy hardcore' look, then the cartoony artwork needs to go.
